I had a horrible experience when I brought a vintage ring in to be engraved. It took close to four weeks to be finished and when I received it I noticed damage on the band and the face which had not been there before. The ring had been clamped too tightly while being engraved which caused the damage. When the ring was brought back to Van Isle they only offered to polish the band to remove the marks. Any good jeweller would tell you this is not a good option as the metal will become too thin and prone to breaking. They offered no apology or refund for the service. This is incredibly disappointing as my ring is now permanently damaged. I will not trust them with any of my jewelry in the future I would certainly not recommend them to any one.

I visited Van Isle because I was new to Victoria and I was looking for a good antique repair person. I constantly have a large variety of pieces that need repair. Estelle and everyone at Van Isle Jewellers are highly qualified and do beautiful work.

I have been using Van Isle Jewelers for 25 years, both to buy jewelry and to have my jewelry repaired. My children and my friends agree that Van Isle is a store where you can trust what they say, and their work will be excellent and at a fair price.

Got a wedding band custom made to fit a most unusual one-of-a-kind diamond solitaire. I found the staff courteous and friendly. The diamond band was finished in one day short of a week and it is beautiful. I can't stop looking at it. I had thought that having custom made jewellery to be out of my price range and found that not to be true and in fact the final cost was even less than they originally quoted me. I would highly recommend them. Thank you Van Isle, love the ring.

Poor experience trying to have my engagement ring resized with them. When we went in to inquire about resizing, the man took a quick look and said that its no problem and will take a little longer about 2 weeks because one of the jeweler is on vacation. So 2 weeks later I call in asking if the ring is ready, they tell me that they are not able to resize it due to the side diamonds (which I asked specifically if that would be a problem initially and he said no). We spoke to Cathy the manager when we went in to pick up the ring, and she offered me a solution and was apologetic, however I'm still dissatisfied that my time was wasted and no one reached out to me for 2 weeks until I called in.

Van Isle Jewellers is exceptional! I wouldn't shop anywhere else. I know there that I can trust them, their craftsmanship and their service. It's wonderful to know that honest businesses like Van Isle Jewellers still stand in Victoria.

Just replaced a chain for a necklace that I bought elsewhere a while back. Really positive experience! Excellent selection and superior service. Plus, the magpie in me loved everything else in the store. My birthday is coming up - I expect I'll be back!

We moved to the island 2 yrs ago from Ontario. . After unpacking I had several pieces of jewellery that needed to be repaired or replaced. A neighbor told me about Van Isle. Went there and the service was excellent and the prices were fair. Today dropped off after work to see if they could straighten my husbands wedding band. . I though I would leave it and pick it up the next day as I didnt have my debit card on me.. they took it and fixed it up.. I told them I would come in tomorrow to pay and they said not to worry about it!! Nowadays that is unheard of!! Van Isles will be my jewelry store and will be recommended to whoever asks! Van Isle Jewellers has been a go to jeweller for us for several years for both new purchases and repairs. They are honest, fair, very helpful and do great work. We recently had a custom ring made from scrap gold and were very happy with the results. Nice people to deal with and excellent service.

I have come in a number of times to have my rings re-sized. I was so satisfied with the rings I had re-sized. They did an awesome job with making sure it fit my fingers perfectly. The last time I was there, I purchased chains which I absolutely love.
