The Moncton Hospital
My health case is rather simple this visit. I've had a sore, painful, foot for almost 2 weeks now and went to emergency since I currently do not have a family doctor.Upon entering the building a hospital intermediate asked various questions related to COVID and once cleared his partner handed us face masks. Both my wife and I were pleased with this continued level of surveillance. Having given my name and condition we were sat to await the triage nurse.Rather quickly I was called forward and the triage nurse continued COVID clearance questions, symptoms and heart/blood pressure testing. Was asked if I'd mind 2 student nurses overseeing and, of course, I let her know that I was happy to see them participate. Learning first hand is a valuable trait that everyone should be willingly to participate in.Once done I returned to waiting. Shortly after I was then processed by another hospital aid and had my ID bracelet attached. After a bit of of wait I was called forth to the other side (by this time my lovelywife, Pat, left for work). A nurse practitioner questioned me and had x-rays taken of my foot. Once completed I was returned for her reading of the results.Given my diagnosis I was released. Overall, I believe the entire procedure only took a couple hours, give or take. Being knowledgeable about long waits I was clever enough to bring a book into the waiting area. I only read about 1/40th of the entire book. I had quite a bit of free time before anxiety might have set in.Overall I was treated extremely well for such a strained system. It was my luck that there appeared to be no extreme emergencies that drained hospital staff beyond their ability to get to my aid rather quickly.First class establishment this hospital which I am proud to have access to at anytime. At age 63 I will loudly state that Canada's hospital system is top notch. Were it not for this system in place I will state my life would definitively have ended at age 16 (emergency spleenectomy). Many other less extreme health cases have occurred since which have helped to keep me on my feet. I will always be indebted to our fantastic Canadian health system.

The health care in this province is truly abysmal, and nowhere is it better shown than this place. I and my girlfriend are currently STILL in the ER waiting room, in our 15th hour of waiting while the whole time she is in excruciating pain. No updates, no news, just the med students checking vitals every once and a while because people have DIED while waiting. This is beyond messed up. If I could give negative stars I would.

Wouldn’t let me visit my grandmother with my father in the NICU. One person at a time. Receptionist was a bit of a nasty cow too.Not to mention the hospital is just awful. What’s with this parking situation? Or lack thereof.Tim Hortons is the only place to get food and it’s not even a full-sized Tim’s.

Went there twice for my 5yr old. She had an x-ray done and a minor surgery. Both times, the nurses and docs were good and polite. Clean everything and attentive. Wait times were not long at all, especially for x-ray. The surgery went great, and we were out of there within the day. Kiddo has fast recovery and no side-effect. Not sure how attentive they are to adults, but to kids they are no issues. As a former Ontarian (more hospitals, better quality overall), this is what I expected and they have met my expectations.Paid parking was available right across the street. At this time, they still require masks. This may change as more places are getting rid of them.

Absolutely unacceptable. Waiting 12 hours in the ER with a broken hand and didn’t even get called. At least 50% of the staff are walking around texting, on their cell phones. And the other 40% are just sitting around. No wonder you can’t get scene by anyone as there to busy scrolling on there phones. Not sure how medical professionals are allowed to be on their phone at work anyway as you’re not even allowed to use your phone at work if you work at Walmart. No one takes it serious and the place is an absolute gong show. Not to mention the place is disgusting, janitors change the garbage and that’s it. Save yourself a headache and just go anywhere else . 0/10

We have unfortunately had the use the emergency department a handful of times over the last 7 months, and you constantly hear how awful our healthcare is, and maybe in some aspects it is, but I have to say, we have received nothing but excellent care in each instance the last 7 months. A year ago is a completely different story. But now we can see staff morale is up, the nurses aids in emerge are phenomenal. Are the wait times lengthy if you’re bored or have somewhere else to be? Yes, it can be, but processes and testing takes time. Watching some people storm in and demand certain care and be honestly verbally abusive to the staff is infuriating, they are human and they’re there to help you, a little kindness goes a long way. Speaking to care, for us, each instance has been great. Nurses and doctors have been nothing but kind, attentive and thorough. Upon admittance care has been excellent. I cannot say enough good things about the improvements being made to our healthcare system in the last handful of months. Know that we may not always have the opportunity to give you a thank you appropriately, but that you are appreciated.

I brought my 4 year old son to the emergency ward; he has a temperature of 37.7 and threw up right in the hospital making it the 7th time he’s throwing up within 5 hours. Been here since 12:40am , it’s 5:54am and the student doctor I spoke to told me there’s just one doctor attending to everyone! We are over 17 people still waiting to see the doctor! I’ve never experienced this in my life!!! This hospital is looking like “a thousand and one ways to die”

They MH will understimulate you. Won't evaluate you and will take every liberty when making sure that every bed is filled for as long as they can ensure others that they need to keep evaluating you.Do not stay at this hospital if you do not have support that will make them think twice monetarily for the consequences. There will not be any if you don't have any support.

Man, the ER crew are phenomenal. Unfortunately our kid was super sick recently so had to visit the ER 3 times in a week as her condition deteriorated. The triage we're friendly and efficient. The nurses were extremely kind and genuinely sweet. The two different doctors we saw were personable, compassionate, and informative. Was there a long wait the first trip? Yes. BUT that is not the fault of the hospital, nor it's great staff, that's a government funding issue. I could complain re the wait, but at the end of the day, the alternative is a pay more per use system and I don't know if Canada is ready for that.In short, of all hospitals I've been to in my injury prone life/sporting life (and as a parent), the nurses here are great. They are who you deal with 90% of the time at a hospital and despite the stress of their job, they're sincerely helpful....all that said, I hope I'm not back in the ER for a while.
