Costco Pharmacy

Struggling to transfer my family profile from this location to Costco Newmarket. They have not transferred all medications upon Costco Newmarket request. Time to time they refill some prescription without our consent by contacting our physicians and then texting us reminding about ready to pick up medication. This never happened during 6 years we were using their service but since we decided to transfer our profile to a closer pharmacy. Very unprofessional and unethical!

Extremely Rude Staff! There is something seriously wrong with the staff here and the manager should urgently look into this.The lady in the morning shift just hung up in the middle of the conversation and I had to call back 5 times to reach her to find out that she got it all wrong and found my prescription. She was really rude with me during the first call and told me the medicine was out of stock but magically it became in stock in the next call. If I was the boss I would fire the staff here and get new people who are polite and know what customer service is. Sadly the boss is sleeping!!!

Poor serviceOne may save a dollar or two having a prescription prepared by this pharmacy but be prepared for undue wait time, long line, less than friendly staff and unfulfilled promises. My prescription was almost depleted and after ordering for a refill by phone, I was promised it would be available two days later. When I went there I was told the medication was on order and would be available the next day. Next day came and I went and was told it was still unavailable until four days later. The pharmacy assistant was totally unsympathetic and couldn’t care less. Not a word of apology or explanation for broken promises.

I came here a while ago to pick up my prescription. I normally go to a different pharmacy which has a much higher dispensing fee, so I was expecting to pay less at Costco for the exact same prescription. When they told me the amount, it was pretty much the same as what I normally pay at the more expensive place. All I did was ask the cost of each box I was getting to figure out how it was almost the same price as the other place when the dispensing fee is so much less, and the lady behind the counter immediately got extremely rude with me. She kept yelling that they don't price match with other pharmacies even though I explained multiple times that I wasn't asking her that, just asking the price. After going back and forth a few times I just dropped it because I didn't want to argue, but she was clearly still heated. When she asked to see my insurance, I showed her my policy number and ID, which is all I've needed to pay at other pharmacies/clinics with no issues. She refused to look at anything I showed her on my phone and insisted she needs the physical insurance card as proof. I explained to her that I was never given a card, and what I have on my phone is all I ever use or need. She was about to refuse my insurance entirely until she saw it was already entered in the system and was able to use that. Otherwise she would have made me pay the entire amount out of pocket. Extremely rude and unprofessional service. This was the first and last time I ever went to this pharmacy.

They are busy and probably cheaper prescription than other pharmacies but by far the worst service. Staff are rude and impatient. This definitely differs from the rest of the Costco experience. If you have insurance coverage, or don’t mind the price difference, definitely consider alternatives!

I picked up my travel vaccination at noon, I asked if I can recieve vaccination with costco pharmacist, they told me to book appointment. That same day, I called to book for the vaccination because the online website only had the option to call, not book. When they recieved the call, they told me to book online, I explained that there is no option for me to book slots unlike the covid vaccine myself.They put me on hold (no problem), then stated the pharmacist does not give that vaccine" when it clearly states on the pharmacy website that they can administer that specific vaccine. They put me on hold again (no problem)

2023-ReviewI had an incredibly disappointing experience at this Richmond Hill Costco Pharmacy again. To put it simply, their service was terrible. They failed to fill one of my prescriptions without any notification or explanation. When I inquired about it, I was informed that the pharmacist had rejected the prescription because they believed it had been issued two months earlier by my dentist.The most frustrating part of this whole ordeal was the complete lack of communication from Costco Pharmacy. Not only did they not notify me of their decision not to fill my prescription, but they also failed to inform me of the reason for their rejection. I had to take the initiative to ask what was going on, and even then, I was given vague and unhelpful responses.In my opinion, this level of customer service is unacceptable, especially for a pharmacy that is supposed to be reliable and trustworthy. It's not enough to simply reject a prescription without explanation or notification. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and to be kept informed of any issues or delays.Overall, I cannot recommend this Costco Pharmacy based on my experience. Very bad experience. The telephone system accepted my refill but when I showed up today at pharmacy they told me it is too early to refill it! They have no medicine for me. If I am willing to pay myself without using Insurance plans, I can come back tomorrow.I called my insurance company, and they told me I am eligible to get refills and there was NO denying history of my claim, which means the pharmacy never claimed my insurance!The woman at drop off window has no customer service. She was able to process my claim after I called the insurance and “explained” to me “ I don’t know what happened. What else You want me to tell you?” Excuse me? Maybe an apology? Or at least show some sympathy for the travel I have to make?Transferred to another pharmacy right away. Can’t see this pharmacy last long if it is not located in a Costco.

Worst pharmacy ever, I left my prescription yesterday and they gave me a slip and said it's going to be ready today by 10am. They then called me yesterday to tell me the prescription should be around $38 and be ready later in the noon by today.I came back today at around 2pm and lined up to pick up my prescription. The lady says it's not ready and nothing is there for me. And told me to go back to the drop off prescription window and ask about it.I lined up and asked for it. They said it's not ready because they need to confirm an ingredient with my doctor and my doctor haven't reply to their fax. I looked at them and called my doctor immediately and told my doctor about it. My doctor called them back instantly!They then said they cannot get the prescription to be ready by today. Does it even makes sense to you? If you told me you need my doctor to confirm an ingredient yesterday I would of done that and be able to have my prescription today!So, anyways the story is SO FAR they told me to come back again tomorrow around 10am for it. I asked can you confirm it will be ready tomorrow by 10am. They said they don't know. Like what kind of response is this?!!!!!!!

Avoid this pharmacy at all costs. The low dispensing fee is not worth the condescending individuals that works at this pharmacy. Was treated so poorly when I explained to some team members a special circumstance after being a customer for years. I cant speak for all individuals at this location, but the main pharmacist will treat you terribly if you require any additional service other than a direct pickup of a prescription. Absolutely no consideration of customer service.
