Shanghai Chinese Food
Disappointing. If you’re from Toronto and are used to Chow Mein being a noodle dish, DO NOT come here. Here it is a bean sprout dish. Just received my order and called right away as we live right up the street and the woman on the phone refused to help out. Could not return it, refund it or switch it for the actual noodle dish we wanted, even though the dish we got was not touched or eaten at all. Frustrating because we never usually have problems here and we’re so close. Finding another restaurant for future orders and DO NOT recommend this one.

Had 3 combo plates, rating all a 0/5. Wheres the authentic chinese taste Shanghai Chinese Food owners??? It was horribly bland and scarce for the price. I would NOT recommend this place!!! Dry garlic ribs extremely dried up, rice was bland, broccoli was warm but almost raw hardly cooked. Breaded shrimp was oily and bland and came with no sweet and sour sauce, sweet and sour sauce itself was not tasty, sweet and sour ribs were tough and oily and over battered. Overall very disappointed. Shanghai owners I hope you take this review seriously because your only hurting your own business if you dont.

I've been going to Shanghai for well over 20 years. The food is always top quality and very consistent. The Chicken Balls are filled with a large amount of chicken breast meat so the meat to batter ratio is far better than most places. Even the Chow Mein and Rice dishes all have white chicken in them. I highly recommend the Soo Guy which is beautifully battered and deep fried chicken breasts. You can order it with sweet and sour, lemon, Shanghai special, mushroom and almond sauce. Another dish I highly recommend is the Beef with Mixed Vegetables. Their Spring Rolls are the best in the city. The rice paper after being filled with superb ingredients is then battered and deep fried. Super delicious. They have some really great combination plates that are a good bang for the buck. Their service is always fast and friendly. Check out Shanghai and I promise that you will not be disappointed.

Thank you Shanghai Chinese Food again, again and again times over. I have been going here for years. Owner's are wonderful and great food to match! A warm greeting and smiles everytime. Absolutely fantastic food every time. Always hot, fresh, delicious, full of flavour and large portions. A must have!Everything from a last minute dinner, to a full planned out meal. I've ordered in every situation possible from these fantastic business owners and every time it reminds me why I keep going back! Not that I needed to be reminded :)

By far best wonton soup in the city and/or that I have ever had in my life! Everytime I'm sick or in a bad mood I go get some and it makes me feel better. All of their food is great kind customer service always as well.

It is take out only. The food is very good and reasonably priced. I pre ordered for a certain time and it was 1/2 an hour late which wasn't bad because it was New Years Eve. They did seem a little unorganized.

Absolute best Chinese food I’ve ever had. My boyfriend and I order from here regularly and it’s always excellent. Prices are reasonable and the portion size is more than enough. 100% always recommend this place.

It’s our first time that we order food and we have to wait more than 20 minutes, the lady at the counter said 15 minutes and the rice was burnt and the chicken chow mein was burnt so totally we don’t recommend it.

Ordered takeout for pickup (first time). She was great on the phone, described the menu and helped me make decisions. But the food lacked strong flavours. Nothing was bad, but generally it wasn't anything special. If I need a quick bite I may go back, but there are better Chinese food places around.
