Focus First Dog Training

Lindsay was so great with our pup (and us!)She is so knowledgeable, patient and excellent at what she does!! By the end of our sessions I felt like I was equipped with all the right tools to continue training our pup!He has come such a long way -we are so thankful for focus first dog training!!

Lindsay did an amazing job! I now feel much more comfortable with my dog; he is better trained and I learned a lot! Definitely worth it if you're struggling with obedience, behaviours, anxiety and ultimately anything dog-related, I would highly recommend Focus First Dog Training :)

Focus First gave me the training in order to train our puppy! She also came to train with us at our home, which is so great. Having training done within the environment that the puppy spends most of their time, makes sense to me. Always on time for sessions and great communication.I highly recommend Focus First dog training!

I contacted Lindsay when I got a new puppy. We did the puppy package consisting of 4 or 5 one hour training sessions. My dog is very small compared to most others and Lindsay was able to modify her regular training techniques to be suitable for my small pup. My pup was a bit stubborn with some of the training but Lindsay was able to work around it and wasn’t forceful when my pup was having a bad training day. Instead she taught me the techniques to practice outside of training so that my pup could still make progress. Lindsay always offered for me to send her a message if I had any questions between training sessions so it felt like I had access to her outside of training. I did find that the training was a bit expensive for the length and number of the sessions, but it’s nice to be able to do training privately in the comfort of our own home. Overall we had a good experience with Focus First Dog Training.

Lyndsey was great. As she knows Lab's really well, she connected with Charlie very well. She knows how to work with Labs and understands them very well. Lyndsey was also very accommodating with time to fit my schedule. Highly recommend her

We just finished up our last training session with Lyndsay and couldn’t be more happy and relieved! Our rescue we adopted in June 2022 had what seemed to be all the big issues- reactivity, resource guarding, etc. We were at the point where if we didn’t see improvements with training, we weren’t going to be able to keep him in our family. Other trainers in the area we approached told us we needed to pursue expensive board and train options, which was not in our budget or something we felt comfortable doing. After the first couple changes we made in the first week, we saw some immediate changes. Fast forward to the end of the 5 weeks of Lyndsay's program, and we can confidently say Lyndsay provided us with strategies to manage the behavioural issues we experienced alongside the great advice to help improve the overall obedience with both of our dogs. While it’s still a work in progress, we now have a foundation to build upon in the future that will allow us to be able to keep our rescue in our life.
