And so happy he recently moved to Barrhaven (right off the highway by the Costco - prime location!)Joe is the epitome of an expert skate sharpener, and high-caliber figure skaters and hockey players flock from across Ottawa and the Valley to take care of their blades. His employee, Aiden, also does an incredible job. And they do everything from skates to kitchen knives, lawnmower blades, etc. If it needs to be sharpened, take it to B-Sharp. Profiling, repairs, accessories like tape and laces, etc. They’ve got it all, do it all, and I’ve never been disappointed.They’re ALWAYS busy, so make sure you book an appointment on the website. Just went in today used the booking system. Absolutely best service skate repair with customer kindness. Great people took my sons skates and fixed them up best they could. 5 stars forsure.

This place is a joke. I dropped my skates off on a Thursday at 11am, they needed a lot of work. They told me they could do it, blades needed to be grinded and rivets replaced. I was told $50 for the grinding as it was 2 hours of work ($80 for new blades and my current ones had lots of metal left) and $20 for the rivets. Was told they would call me when ready either that day or the next. No call. Called Saturday and was told they were ready, drove an hour to pick them up the following Tuesday and was told they hadn't finished grinding them and still needed to be sharpened. Went again on Wednaesy and they were finally ready. See pictures for how I got them. Laces were all taken out and the blades looked like they still needed to be grinded more. Edges were not uniform and the toe of one skate was still rough and pitted. When I asked if they retained the existing profile they said no and just chose a different one without consulting with me. The best part, the bill was $100! I was honestly so tired of dealing with this place that I just wanted my skates back and didn't feel like spending anymore time in that place so I paid and left. I see they are rated well and that's why I traveled as far as I did to get the work done. Each of the three times I was there another customer was told that their skates weren't ready either. Seems like customer service is not a priority. Don't tell customers you can do something you can't If you can go somewhere else I would, that's what I will be doing in the future.

Did a great job sharpening my skates. Had 3 bad sharpenings in a row from other places so it’s nice to find a place that actually does it properly. Also love the fact that you can make an appointment so you know they will get done right away.

Initially ordered the Catalyst 9 skates on Aug 2. After 6 weeks waiting I am still waiting for the correct one to come. Anyone else have the similar experience? The problem is that my kid's old one is in very bad shape.I finally got the skates. I raised the review due to the explanation from Joe that it is the True supply chain issue. However, my Pedorthist just fund the bolt of skates are sticking out and hurting the feet. I am contacting B-Sharp to see if it can be fixed.I really appreciate B-sharp is trying to fix the issue. Hope it can be fixed.

You wouldn’t know you’re getting your skates done incorrectly elsewhere until you get your skates sharpened professionally at b-sharp. Having them profiled, squared and sharpened to a radius that fits your style changes the way you feel on the ice all for the better.
