Sushi Nami Royale (Bayer's Lake)
EDIT: Updated Apr 2021 in Bayers Lake location. Still delicious, even nicer interior design! Just had a wonderful lunch with Jasmine as our server.Previous review:This place sets the bar for Japanese cuisine in Halifax. The bento boxes, the sushi, and the ramen are all top notch dishes. Highly recommended visit for lunch or dinner!

The food was very good. Unfortunately, they wouldn't take a phone order for pick up, but that's not a deal breaker. The staff member we interacted with was very pleasant. Overall a good experience.

Service was good. affordable prices. food was palatable but disappointing.I went here last night with a friend. Service throughout was great, staff was very attentive and our food came quickly. We ordered a combination of salmon and vegetable sushi rolls, sashimi, and karaage chicken. The chicken was cut into very small pieces so it got overly crispy and dry when fried. The result was tough, chewy and disappointing. Our sushi rolls were okay but ultimately disappointing. While flavour profiles were good the fish seemed to be of poor quality and was not well cut. The coloration of the salmon was more grey than normal and the fish took considerable effort to chew through, not the melt in your mouth you expect at a good sushi restaurant.We also ordered draught beer that was poorly poured. It came without a head and was overly carbonated. Drinking half the beer left me feeling bloated.While the food was disappointing, for a sushi restaurant in a strip mall this is all fine. Service is quick and prices are reasonable. All in all fine for a quick lunch, but I would hesitate to recommend this restaurant to a friend.

This is an awesome restaurant for an excellent, reasonably-priced, sushi meal.The service was fast and efficient. The server was friendly.The menu is huge! I finally chose from the Sushi Sashimi Course Dinner" section. I chose the 3rd dinner in this section. This included 8 pieces of Nigri and 6 pieces of Maki -- all delicious. The course began with miso soup [which I loved]

Excellent place to eat some sushi. Absolutely excellent sushi! One of our new places. Can't wait to return. Everyone was very kind, too. It's also clean.

Nigri and sushi was sub par with the rice dry and the fish on the Nigri cut thin in places and unevenly and not too fresh. Agedashi tofu was very disappointing with a thick batter that was nowhere crispy and a bit stodgy. Apparently, they had a chef in training. Server was nice, helpful and very courteous but the dishes were a real let down, unfortunately.
