We came upon Fine Finishes by referral, and after meeting with a couple of other designers, decided to proceed with a condo renovation that we had Andrea design and manage. Andrea's aesthetic, eye for detail, and pragmatic approach was evident in that first meeting, where she quickly identified things we could do to bring in more light, make rooms feel more spacious and flow better, while asking lots of questions to uncover what things were most important to us. Core to our project was a new kitchen and replacement of the original hardwood floor throughout the condo, with all the associated electrical, plumbing, plastering and paining that goes with that, and a few other minor upgrades in the rest of the unit. We love the layout and look of our new kitchen. With her design, Andrea opened up our tiny galley kitchen, giving us more storage and work areas, without making any structural changes. She also made paint selection a breeze, which is something I've always struggled with and we love the result in every room. Relying on the contractors and skilled trades recommended by Andrea and managed by Nelson was an important part of the success of this work, as all were highly skilled, reliable, dedicated and could be depended on to deal with anything that arose (our building dates back to the 1930's so renovations always have some unforeseen challenges). We are immensely pleased with the design, quality and workmanship of the skilled trades employed, and our relationship with everyone involved.

Andrea was amazing and outstanding! She started the project before the renovation and helped us to decide almost everything, space changing, kitchen cabinetry/countertop, tiles, floor, paining, furniture and its placement, doors, handles.... She cares about everything no matter how tiny it is. She is professional, easy to reach, good at communication and very patient.What's more impressive is that she designed the our home which suits us the best! She even thought about the hanger rack for our two kids!Now we've been living at our new home for 3 weeks, our kids are happy with cleaning up their stuff because it's easy for them to do. Meanwhile, we realize that everything we think is beautiful, useful and reasonable is suggested by Andrea!We are so lucky to meet her and appreciate her for all the useful advises which make our home cozy, gorgeous and functional.

Andrea is simply amazing. My husband and I have been struggling with colours and overall design/layout issues with our renovation project. Andrea not only gave us the design and layout advice that we so desperately needed but she also made some invaluable observations which prevented us from going down the wrong path. We just recently used Fine Finishes for the 3rd time and we are once again extremely pleased with the results. On this project we were doing a full renovation and Andrea helped to design our washrooms from tile to vanity colour and she also helped us with paint selection throughout the entire home. Everything looks stunning and came together so nicely. Andrea is very thorough with great style and I know that whenever I work with her on a project I am confident I will get amazing results.

Andrea and her team were so helpful with the design of our new home. Andrea gave her advice on furniture for our dining room, TV room, and master bedroom. All the pieces we ordered through her were delivered on time. One item had a small scratch and her team replaced it right away. She worked with the furniture company so that we didn't have to worry about anything. It was a pleasure to work with Andrea and her team.

I contacted Fine Finishes for help with a main floor upgrade. It was time to upgrade the flooring on the main floor and the upstairs. At the same time I wanted to consider how we could better make use of our main floor and our small semi detached home. Andrea came in and quickly helped develop a plan to tackle what was most important to us. We replaced the subfloors and flooring with a material we would never have considered before and love the result. We opened up walls and replaced the main staircase. We replaced the mismatched trim work throughout the house restoring it to the original style. Our tired 90 year old house looks refreshed and contemporary and the family is making better use of the main space. There is more light and sense of larger space. The new front hall storage unit has changed the way we function daily and looks beautiful. I never thought I could have this much flexible storage! The vision for the basement bathroom is elegant and practical and we can't wait to enjoy it.Fine Finishes held their contractors to a high standards and advocated for us when the execution details needed further attention. Andrea and Nelson have great respect for their clients homes and the impact a renovation has on the homeowners. Andrea's design guidance gave me great confidence in making decisions that will last for years to come and streamlined the entire process. She listened to all of my questions, concerns and considerations and worked to find solutions that suited the needs of my family. At every step I felt that I could count on her to come through as the project required. No detail was too small for her time and attention. Her colour choices, sourcing and ability to bring all the design elements together was spot on, we love the transformation of our home.

Andrea provided guidance and recommendations related to selection and purchase of furniture, pictures, drapery and carpets for my 2 bedroom house condo unit in Toronto. There was also some custom cabinetry required which she had a great source.This project started with very little existing furniture so began pretty much from a clean slate. Andrea helped guide me in selecting proper colours and furniture styles considering the existing room features and my lifestyle. I’m very pleased with the result.

Andrea exemplifies true creativity and service excellence. We reached out to her to provide consultation services for color selection and other design work. Her approach was unique and really resonated with us. We felt she really understood our personalities, cultural backgrounds, occupations, hobbies, etc. and then ideated holistic solutions that we were not able to visualize ourselves!Furthermore, she operated under some fixed constraints which included costs, existing imported furniture and art, which was even more impressive. Our entire experience was superb and I would highly recommend others to benefit from Andrea's broad knowledge and experience!
