Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest

Atmosphere and acoustics at Oktoberfest Haus were horrible, you can't have an Oktoberfest in a truck garage. Hidden fees and charges get added with every click when buying tickets online. Payment system requires you to fill out about 5 forms before and after the event. Oh, and, surprise, a refund processing fee for the unused balance! Next time I'll go back to Munich.

0 stars if I could. Bought 2 tickets online and they double charged me. Then refused the refund on the basis of 'No refunds. Period.' Even though I IMMEDIATELY contacted them. Never buy online! Theives.

It's a shame to read some of these reviews. I love everything German and have been wanting to visit this place fIt's true everything in Ontario has been getting worse since 2015. I still wouldn't completely avoid the KW region for that reason alone.I was very discouraged though by that comment about feeling unwelcome if you're not white. That's a different story. If this is the case these kind of people should not work here. It ruins the beauty of the whole thing. My advice is if you're non white and decide to visit and they give you this ain ttt

Attended the Dallas Smith concert at Concordia Club. Not enough servers at the bars. Waited 30 minutes for a drink. People budding in the line. Patrons pushing their way through the crowds to get to the front of the stage while dumping drinks on others. People undressing while concert going on. Fights breaking out in the crowd. Security was nowhere to be found. Very dissapointing night.

It's okay. As someone who has seen the Brazilian and the original German Oktoberfest the Kitchener one doesn't really stick to tradition. There's too many halls around the city and on some of them you can not even sit (which is the basic concept of Oktoberfest: you sit and drink until you pass out) and this turned me off.. Don't get me wrong, it's fine and you will have a good time, but as someone who's seen the two best in the world it doesn't do the trick...

Don't bother. Save up some money and go to Blumenau , SC in Brazil. If you plan on driving more Than 40 minutes to see this you might want to reconsider. No centralized area, no large crouds.... Expensive tickets, limited beer, and... Barely anyone dress as Germans.

Two things that really surprised me. 1). They do charge money for the air" (just to get in). Why??? It's not the way a REAL Octoberfest functions in Munich

Today I went to the Kitchener Market Oktoberfest, based on the schedule and activities, it looked like a great intro for my son. We got there and there might as well have been nothing! No area, no activities, nothing. Then we waited an hour to see the Schwaben dancers only to find out they had been moved to later in the day but all the posted schedules around the venue were the original, no changes and the staff and other dancers had no idea what was happening. Massive waste of a morning! Nothing organized or on time, no activities. Pointless! Massively disappointed. As a German never having done the Kitchener Oktoberfest before for reasons, only to finally go thinking its a good step into his background for my little guy, not very impressed.

Glad I was able to attend the event this time round as it was held end Sept. There were many stalls selling all sorts of farm produce, food and drinks. A joyful day out suitable for young n old.
