Carlos O'Bryan's Neighbourhood Pub
Great location on the water and obviously a popular place as it was very busy. The staff are super friendly. A little disappointing on a few of our food choices in particular their pacho potatoes and the twice baked potato that came with the prime rib. Also need to mention that it's still taking some getting used to the higher prices like a hamburger in the mid twenty range. Otherwise it was a nice night out.

Very disappointed told us they don't do reservations but the people that got there after us said they reserved yesterday, lied to us said she made the reservations 2 wees ago but she called the day before, i heard the lady said she called the day before, but for us to wait over 3 hours. Asked if our kids wanted food to share I said yes because they were getting cranky. Thinking it was on the house. Nope. Not even a discount or I'm sorry for the wait!! Food was warm too. I would have went else where but that's where my son wanted to celebrate his birthday! Our table spent almost 400.

We came to have a drink before the ferry and specifically asked if they can make some food really quick as we had to leave in 45 minutes. A waitress assured us that we'd be good. In 40 minutes we only got our beer (that was good, no problem with it) and I requested to pack all meals as we were about to be late. Our meals were packed in 55 minutes from the time the order was requested. We were lucky to be on time, but that is not the way to handle things. There would've been no problem if the waitress told us that their kitchen had been busy - we'd just grab a beer and some snacks. But we were assured that we'd be able to leave in time.And the onion soup was not that tasty, while the prawns were great.You work close to the terminal, it's necessary to understand the importance of the timing.

Very disappointed in the experience. We sat down for 15 min before getting service, and we decided to get our meals to go because of the ferry time. My 24$ chicken Cesar salad had 4 ingredients- lettuce, 4 croutons, dressing and chicken. Extremely disappointed - would not recommend.

Great food, great service. Our server Cass went out of her way and asked the chef to cook a special order of onion crisps (rings). And the drinks were great while dining on the deck. Will definitely be back.

As always, love my Carlos O'Bryans meals out! I love going during happy hour with friends and getting all the appys! My favorite is the beef yorkies and the tuna stack (best I've ever had!!)

Carlos O'Bryan's Neighbourhood Pub
Recently had my first ever visit to Carlos O'Bryan's with my wife. Can't say I was disappointed. The food was fantastic! The serving sizes were great. The service was one of the best I've experienced in Nanaimo (plenty of servers around and very little wait time to order or get drinks etc). The view off their patio section is fantastic! We will be back for sure!
