Village Goods has a good selection of Fairtrade foods, including excellent Zatoun olive oil from Palestine, coffee, chocolate, and baking goods. Every year I also check their website to see what planters they have in stock--from time-to-time they offer some very striking ones.

My favorite place to shop in Edmonton, great art at affordable prices and hopefully beneficial to the artisans and craftspeople making such lovely things.

This is edmonton's oldest, and in my opinion the best, fair-trade store in Edmonton. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly. The store has a great selection of fair trade chocolates, coffees, teas, spices, and various other foods.

Fair trade goods from around the world. Children's books with global representation for those who want to expose their kids to the similarities and differences of people around the world. Organic socks for all age groups. Cat houses for pampered felines. The only time I wished I was a cat! Amazing jewelry, rugs, woven baskets. Super silk scarves made from saris. Fair prices.

Great concept for a store. As a person who has traveled to many places where much of this stuff is sourced, I can definitely appreciate the concept of fair trade. Where I find the store falls a little short, is that they focus heavily on artisan crafts that can be very expensive. From a personal bit of experience, arts and crafts from local minorities or regional artisans I find I only purchase directly from that artisan myself. Art has such an emotional connection that even though it looks cool, the high price without the personal connection is more difficult to justify to oneself. Great coffee section in the back though!

Lovely fair trade and ethically sourced not-for-profit that sells homewares, jewelry, small toys and books, rugs, clothing, journals, coffee and teas, Christmas decorations and much more. Almost every item comes with a story about who makes it and how it's contributing to local economies, community development, education, environmental sustainability and more.
