I'm early 40's and have only ever had 3 other people cut my hair, and have only been a client of 2 barber shops. I was forced to find a new place and am SO LUCKY to have Sam be my first cut with a different barber in almost 20 years. No joke, this person/place is amazing. Clean! Polite! Professional! Fast! Aug 12, 2021 update: it was fabulous to see Sam again, first time since Covid. So glad to receive his outstanding haircut again and to catch up. I will be back in 4 weeks!Sam is terrific, a craftsman! So friendly & thoughtful. I live in Philadelphia but come here for haircuts when in Ottawa visiting family. Love the attention to detail, including straight razor.

Sam is an excellent barber (he used to be at Westgate and struck out on his own-congratulations!) He survived the covid-19 shutdowns. He's back and better than ever (by online appointment only). I have been to a lot of places (I am 60) and I highly recommend this one.

Overpriced haircut for what Sam offered. Sloppy fade with numerous spots he forgot to blend. Scissor job was uneven leaving many longer hairs. I also asked him to take a small amount off the top and we would see afterwards if more needed to be taken off. Instead, he took most of my length off at the start leaving no room for review. He was working alone so I don't know if this is typical or if he normally rushes all of his cuts. There are significantly more skilled and tentative barbers out there for this price.
