Westminster Woods Medical Centre

Every time I call this clinic, I'm on hold for more than twenty minutes. I also had to wait 25 days to schedule an appointment with a doctor. My health deserves a better level of care than this! Switched back to my previous family doctor. I don't recommend this clinic at all!

I have nothing but good things to say about this clinic. They have managed to get me squeezed in on short notice and Dr Woo was great. He listened to my health concerns, and got me directed to a specialist quickly. Of course there is a wait when calling in, but that is to be expected given how overwhelmed our health care system is. I’ve never had to wait longer than 30 mins and the front desk staff has been pleasant and helpful. I think the 1 star reviews may need a little exercise on patience

Guys. Get an online booking system (seemed like they had one for the flu, but not regular appointments). Your telephone system clearly cannot handle the volume. You can train a machine learning algorithm to determine whether to book the appointment, say, this week, or next week depending on symptoms. Contract a machine learning expert. It would take them a month of work, tops.

I am relatively new as patient at this location but I have nothing but good things to say - I have never had to wait on hold for longer than 5 minutes, wait times to see the doctor are reasonable and they have been able to squeeze me in on short noticed when needed. Dr. Woo is great and the receptionists are friendly and accommodating.

My family doctor was great, but she was for a long term leave. Her substitute, a practical physician, was awful and even didn’t how to talk to a patient very nicely in an appropriate manner. My back and my knee had the problem at the same time, she told me that’s a separate issue and I need to book different appointment… this clinic definitely need to be managed better … decide to move to other better clinic…

The doctor is alright but the management is awful. Their phonelines have long bloated messages that are constantly busy, they close for lunch and stop receiving calls long before they even close. They have no online booking option and their secretaries are cranky.

Great doctor, great clinic, but it is damned near impossible to reach them by phone. I have been trying to make an appointment for months, calling during my lunch break (which is not the same as theirs) and usually have to give up after being on hold for my entire break. I finally was able to make an appointment, but I had to do it during a morning off while at another appointment.

The receptionist Pinal is very rude there. I could have missed my important appointment at guelph general hospital (wait time is months) because of her negligence and she was in place saying it was hospital’s fault. When the hospital is saying doctor missed it and doctor’s receptionist is saying hospital missed it, where is patient at fault in this?? She can at least be kind and polite to the patient who is not only physically stressed but mentally and emotionally too. The phone is never answered even in the working hours (excluding the break) and in this cold weather I had to go and schedule a PHONE appointment and she is telling me I shouldn’t have come. Dear Pinal, I didn’t want to, you should have answered one of my multiple calls. You ask me to wear mask (I missed by mistake as it isn’t mandatory at most places now) and you never put your own on, are the rules for patients ONLY??

Always so quick to get me in. Love my doctor! She is always so considerate in listening to my concerns and you can tell she properly investigates them!

Dr. Smith is great but like everyone else's review here, the phone wait times for this clinic are absolutely ridiculous. They need more staff on the phones or the ability to make appointments online. Phone wait times were also incredibly long pre-pandemic. In one case, I was able to be on-hold on my cell phone and drive over to the clinic and make an appointment at the desk in-person while I was still on hold. UPDATE June 2023: the medical centre has recently launched an online booking system that works well and allows patients to avoid long wait times on the phone in most cases. Glad to see they listened to the many people in these reviews and came up with a solution.
