Both my kids trained there for many years with many different instructors. The most recent instructor being Tristan. Tristan is really good with the kids and breaks down the steps very clearly and the logic of what they are trying to achieve. They learned a lot there and will continue to go.

Clean, friendly, and accepting of all skill levels. Can't say enough about this place! Great change room (that includes a sauna!) which is surprisingly rare among kickboxing studios these days

Not a good gym for people who want to learn. If you have never done mix martial arts or kickboxing i don’t recommend you come here. Its over priced and all they teach you is how to get beat for 60 minutes. They only care about their fighters and wont teach you any technique. Terrible. Unless you already know how to fight.

If you're looking to better yourself as a martial artist and take part in one of Canadas premier MMA gyms / teams, look no further. Checkmat is an ego free environment to grow and push yourself. The coaches become invested in you and genuinely car unlike other gyms. I would give it more stars if I could.

Best gym I could ever ask for. Instructors are very knowledgable and friendly. There are instructors ranging from professional mma fighters to black belt jiujitsu, can't ask for a better place to train.

Far and away the best place to train MMA in the lower mainland. Excellent instructors, many of whom are active, professional fighters and champions in multiple organizations. If you want to get the best MMA/kickboxing/BJJ/wresting training, this is the place to be.

Awesome place to train & learn all aspects of martial arts. Whether you're looking for BJJ, Kickboxing, Wrestling or MMA... From Beginner to Professional fighter this place is the one for you!! Tristan is one of the best & will make you feel at home! Highly recommended A+

Friendly and awesome environment to train in. The instructors are great and very patient! It is like an extended family with Checkmat Vancouver. I can vouch as i have been with them since day one. The growth they have went through , since tristan has ourchased the gym has been phenomenal.This is a gym to go grow your martial arts and to even be a fighter if you want to. Great facility and everyone should come for all ages and genders!

Great instructors that care for your well being in and out of the gym. Adam Ryan and his family are all exceptional professionals - that truly believe in the spirit of what they teach. Exactly what you need as a novice just coming into this or an already well established fighter/athlete - you won't regret it!I don't do reviews often but there is a reason why Checkmat Vancouver (aka Dynamic MMA) is the top club in the lower mainland. Do yourself a favor and try it, you have nothing to loose.
