When we walked in it was quiet but after ordering they began playing music that was definitely not family friendly. Had we heard the music, we would’ve gone else where. We were 1 of 3 groups here and it took about an hour to get food. Nearly half the menu was not available, so choices were pretty limited.The brisket was cut along the grain so it was pretty chewy. The burgers were fine but nothing special.They said they were temporarily using paper plates, but reviews show that’s not accurate.Overall, find a different place.

Best place in town for food, patio with a view, drinks, live music and fun. Even has a pool table. The staff are the incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome. Can’t recommend this place enough!

They did not have over half the menu items. We were seated and given 1 menu for the 4 of us to share. Within 4 minutes of being given the menu we were being asked what we wanted, which seemed ludacris as we all had to share a menu. Drinks were outrageously expensive and the waitress was totally un educated on menu and drink items. We canceled our food order as soon as we realized our $35 meals were being served on disposable plates. Many other incredible places to eat in Canmore. Don't waste your time.

If that's not the saddest poutine you've ever seen I don't know what is. Plus, food is served on cheap disposable dishes, what an embarrassment. And maybe the reason they use disposable dishes is because they dont clean their dishes properly, the brim of the cup was dirty. I also ordered a beer that I had to wait more than 30 minutes for and it didn't even come, I had to cancel it. Overall a really bad experience, the only thing redeemable about the place was the amazing view Canmore has to offer and pleasant attention the servers gave us.

A historic pub that is past it’s time. Management really needs to step up. We had lunch on a Saturday, 1pm, there was only 2 customers when we arrived, every other restaurant was full, obvious after the fact why it was empty. Only a couple staff working at the time, no one bothered to great us, we had to approach the bar to confirm they were even open. Had to grab our own menus which were dirty. The menus were different and only offered a few of the items compared to the menu on the restaurants website. The server was friendly but service was very slow, water glasses were all dirty, food was just okay. So many other places to eat lunch in Canmore, skip this place.

Delicious food and very personable and friendly service staff! I'd just recommend asking what they're out of before you make the decision to go in. But I'd highly recommend the club sandwich and the brisket for sure, they were both great!

Awful. Our food came out cold when we complained it came out cold again. Our server kept pestering us to pay whilst we had only just started eating. We complained at the end and were given a grand total of $4 off the bill despite the food being inedible.

Most uncomfortable experience! Partner and I came in for one quick beer after a long day of travel and didn’t think opening a bottle warranted a tip. The server came up to us at the end and told us about Canadian culture and how if we don’t tip we’re probably not going to get good service. I believe her name was Tracey. It was such an uncomfortable experience as she got so close in our personal space. Probably shouldn’t be something you say to customers, as tipping isn’t mandatory, and you only end up turning away business - as we wanted to come back but the servers passive aggressive completely turned us off.

Ended up here today while on the way back to Calgary from our Banff run. The sign said 1890 Smokehouse. So that right there was reason to head on in. We got a table right away as it wasn't overly busy, patio was about half full and few people inside.The place is a little rough on the edges when you first go in. The server was friendly but seemingly working all the tables on her own, so the first drink order to when we ordered food took about 20 minutes. We were on a riding cruise with no serious time line so it wasn't too big of a deal. Just slightly big enough of deal to mention.After the food order was in, it took maybe 20 minutes to get our food. Which was decent. Two of the guys ordered the brisket sandwich, 1 got the Bison burger and I got the pulled pork sandwich. I can only pass on that they said their food was really good. Mine, the pulled pork sandwich, was really good as well. The pork was tender and flaky, the BBQ sauce had the perfect spice to it so it had a bit of a kick but didn't overwhelm you. It was topped with a slaw which is a touch I personally enjoy. The fries were quite good as well. I wouldn't hesitate going here again.If you, like us today, find yourself standing on the sidewalk trying to figure out what to eat, there are several options in Canmore, but if you haven't been here yet, you should give it a try.

Best group of people. Entire staff from chef to servers is top-notch. Will recommend anyone in town to visit and try Thier delicious wings and avocado chicken sandwich. Ask for William specials. That's the trick.
