I had my Lasik surgery on March 9, 2023 at the Gimbel Eye Centre. All the staff is very helpful and professional. My Surgeon, Dr. John A. van Westenbrugge, is gifted by God's wisdom, intelligence , loving heart and caring hand. He is very professional. With a very soft voice explaining every step his doing while the procedures are ongoing. The surgery is super smooth and quick as I gain my vision right after that. I am grateful that the Holy Spirit lead me to someone who had her Lasik at the Gimbel Eye Centre and she said she will call them to put my name on the waiting list. I waited for two years since it’s COVID that time; It is worth the wait. I can testify that God is good, and I had a successful Lasik Surgery. I am happy that I can see clearly now without depending on my eyeglass and contact lens.I want to express my sincere gratitude to the entire team of Gimbel Eye Centre for my Lasik Surgery. Gimbel Eye Centre has been a leader in the ophthalmology world for decades. The staff is not only well trained and experienced but also very supportive and calming during the surgery. As a member of the team, it was nice to see the other side of things when I had my LASIK done.

I had RK surgery with Dr Gimble 20+ years ago.I have suffered every night since. I had RK surgery, where they did laser cuts into both corneas. I have had to put thick ointment and wear eye masks for years. The laser cuts now tear open unless I do the above and it’s extremely painful. I contacted their centre and was told it’s not their problem. I am so sad but I was a canary in the coal mine.Terry

I had PRK surgery at Gimbel and it was such a great experience from the assessment to surgery to post op. The staff and the doctors are awesome and very professional. Dr. van Westenbrugge's gentle voice really calmed my nerves during surgery. As a member of the clinic it was nice to see the other side of things and I highly recommend Gimbel to anyone considering laser eye surgery !

The Gimbel Eye Centre is the finest clinic where you can have surgery. The counsellors are very friendly and accommodating while booking a free consultation. My eye examinations were accurately carried out by kind and competent technicians. In terms of surroundings and environment, the aura inside the reception, pre-op, recovery, and operating room is so calm and relaxing. With the surgeon’s gentle hands during the surgery, it shows that he is highly knowledgeable and well-experienced with laser technology. The human resources are highly educated whereas some are internationally educated nurses from other countries. Very patient, supportive, and professional, they will answer all your questions politely and in a way you will fully understand. And I am proud to be one of them.Thank you for this successful surgery, my life has changed and has drastically improved. Just had my first cataract surgery yesterday by Dr. Helen Chung & all I can say is WOW! I've had cataracts for 2 yrs that were getting worse, fast. The staff at Gimble were extremely kind, informative & knowledgeable. The office is very pleasant & relaxing. I was extremely nervous so opted for mild sedation. The procedure itself was *literally* painless! Dr. Chung guides you through exactly was is happening and there was soft music in the background to help distract me. It was done in about 10-15 min. You receive a comprehensive aftercare guide & this morning I went for a long walk just to enjoy the clear vision & beautiful spring colours ! I would give it 5 stars except for the fact that you have to wait for an hour after the procedure to get your eye pressure checked. If you're not driving, bring a lunch and a book as there's no cafe in the building. As for Dr. Chung & staff...10/10. Thank you!!! ⭐

I recently had LASIK surgery and had a phenomenal experience. I am very grateful to have had Dr. van Westenbrugge perform my surgery, and for all the hard work the team does. Working at Gimbel Eye Center and being around our doctors and staff, I knew I was going to get the best care out there. I felt very comfortable and confident going into this surgery knowing what great professional work our staff and doctors do.

My experience at Gimbel Eye Center was beyond words, miraculous! I have been wearing glasses since I was 13yrs old and walking out of the clinic after a short 30 min surgery being able to see was a miracle. My Dr. was informative and kind. The staff were helpful and understanding. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who needs vision correction without a doubt.

My first time with this eye clinic through referral. I'd say the technician and ophthalmologist I met were just ok.But one of the front desk ladies was very rude. I got a call from her 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment time, without any greeting she started with asking me if I'm coming to the appointment. I told her that my appointment won't start until 10 minutes later and I was driving but should be there in about 5 minutes. She repeated what I just told her, but didn't sound satisfied with my answer. So I asked is there anything wrong with it?". She just said she couldn't hear me clearly throughout the call and hang me up!! If she really couldn't hear me in the call
