MAC Cosmetics

I had a fantastic experience! I recently went to Mac in Southgate Mall to have a full face of make up applied for Christmas/Engagement photos. The girl who assisted me and applied my make up, Sophie, was amazing. She was friendly and knowledgeable with lots of great suggestions to help perfect my look. In the end my make up looked flawless and truly made my photos turn out better than I had ever imagined. I plan on returning for the same service in about a month and a half for my engagement party.

Walked into Mac for the first time in years since they test on animals but I really needed a powder that would work for me (studio fix is amazing) . The service was amazing, they didn't try to over sell and their price was quite good. The woman helping color matched me perfect. Very happy with purchase but I'd be willing to pay for if they would stop testing on animals. I think that's the only issue with mac is they need to go cruelty free.

Worst customer service I've ever had. Went in looking for a few lipsticks and after 5 minutes of no service I had two I wanted to try on. The girl sprayed one for me, put it down on the counter and walked away to go talk to the other associates. When I wanted to try a different colour there was no one around so I sprayed a lipstick and did it myself. When I picked up the two lipsticks I wanted and walked over to the counter where a employee made eye contact with me and walked away into the back. There were 4 girls working at the time. Three of them in the back talking and one with a customer. I waited fifteen with minutes with no acknowledgement or service and left. I went to the Mac at the bay instead where I received wonderful service and I let them know it . Will not shop at this location again.

I don’t wear lipstick much but I have two from MAC that I really like. I’ve been wanting to try a purple shade for a while but don’t know if it would look ok with my skin tone. I went in to this location and found some shades I liked and asked the employee if she could give me some advice if she thought any of them would look ok with my skin tone. She was very unhelpful and told me “you just need to be confident enough to pull it off and you can wear anything”. I’ve tried googling options and from what I have read you try to match colors to your skin tone. I decided to try one of the shades but now that I’ve had 3 people tell me that this purple shade doesn’t look good on my skin tone I’m stuck with a $25 lipstick I won’t wear again. Very unhappy that the employee didn’t care at all to help when I asked and clearly was just trying to make a sale or couldn’t be bothered to actually help me. I will never return to this location.

I was in this Mac location on Friday and I had such a pleasant experience that I will be back again soon. I needed to pick up makeup for my sisters wedding and didn’t have a ton of time. I have not purchased anything other than drugstore makeup since the pandemic started. Alejandra was absolutely fantastic at shade matching me and suggesting the best products for the day and she was great to talk to. She is an incredible representative for the brand that I started buying from over 22 years ago! Definitely left feeling beautiful. Thanks again.

Had a makeup application by one of the girls there (didn't catch her name but she had short blond hair). She did an amazing job on my makeup, exactly what I was looking for for my engagement session. Their cash register was out for about five minutes, and I had to leave in a rush to get to the photoshoot so I feel like I didn't get to thank her as much as I should have. Overall great experience, would go back again! Thanks for doing such a great job :)

I happen to enter MAC store without much knowledge about their products but luckily met Alesandra (Best Customer service ever).She understood exactly what I needed and helped me choose products according to my skin and made me use best of the offers available in store, It was like having a friend who knows exactly what I need , I am a healthcare professional so I am very keen on hygiene of products and handling but hands down , all the staff was following COVID protocols and It was a pleasant visit. I felt I can trust the person helping me which is most important part of customer service!

The products, as we all know, are superb quality! Since I started using their products, my acne has significantly reduced so that's pretty impressive. Just don't go there on a super busy day lile weekends or boxing day. The staff is still their pretty chilled out self but the floor is full of maniacs pushing and trying to hog the counter spaces not because they want to buy something but only because they want to use the testers to do their makeup for free... On a weekday, the staff had time not only to match my skintone with the perfect concealer, they went out of their way to research about my skin type to showcase the products that made a huge difference in the kind of coverage I was getting earlier... on a weekend, they had no time at all!! So thumbs up to the products and staff but thumbs down to the free loaders who ruin our shopping experience just for their free fun!!

After a bad experience at a different cosmetics store in the mall, I came here to purchase quite a few new lipsticks.And although there was only one girl working and she was very busy she still managed to help me extremely well!! Thank you!!

I have had repeated bad experiences at the Southgate location. I love MAC products; however, every time I go into the store, I am ignored by the customer service team or it takes a long time before being acknowledged and helped. The first time I though it was because the service reps did not take me seriously as I was not wearing makeup (regardless of the fact that I have spent an excessive amount of money at Sephora). I spent a while in the empty store with four reps and yet none of them bothered to help me. I also though it might have to do with age as I am 19 and so maybe the reps did not think I was a serious customer. Today, I went in and told the lady what I wanted and she said that she was on it; however, I stood there for 20 minutes waiting for her to pull 1 lipstick as she helped three different people with foundation swatches and other such things. Needless to say I would be far more likely to spend money at MAC if the service was better.
