It's a good grocery store. ... If you can grab things on sale then you're a step ahead as the prices are a bit high. They have a half decent deli and the onion rings are quite good. Where they really shine though is when it's time to clear things out - then you can grab some great deals! Food. Clothes. Even toys. Clearance deals must be snapped up at Independents!

Apparently they think they have a monopoly on how people buy groceries. They are controlling how people got into the store and are making them wait outside in -25° windy weather. They even have the metal shutter pulled across in the mall ((they have mostly had it shut for who knows how long now feels like years)) and completely locked. Really not an attractive look

This store is so expensive! Sometimes they have a good sale on some meat... but even their sale prices on most items are a lot more than even save on and Safeway... shopping here is stressful. The same stuff almost exactly is sold at superstore for a fraction of the price.

I just don’t shop there very often: price is everything to “he who does the shopping”. So what I mean is their prices are not great comparatively.However, their staff is friendly and helpful and the grocs are always stocked!

I had recently bought a glass pitcher from independent and went home to wash it and put it away.To my surprise well washing the pitcher it had smashed, now I am not sure if it was already cracker or not but still it was not a fun experience.I had called the store 3 times and talked to three different people each one saying the merchandise manager would call me back. We’ll surprise they never called. 25$ wasted and almost a visit to the hospital! They are very lucky but when customers have a health and safety concern it should be the managers first priority to make it right and be sure the customer is safe!Very disappointed

Independent store is a great store to shop. I am a frequent shopper there, and on one of my shopping days, I was not feeling very well and as I was getting ready to pay my bill, the young man told me; I had enough points for $30 savings, would I like to redeem points. It brightened up my day, because I thought I wouldn't have enough to do my laundry. But, I did after all. It pays to collect points. U never know when you really need something.

Nice store and freindly staff, prices here are very high compared to other stores. Sad when you can grab a bag of chips at 711 for cheaper, all products seem to be 2 to 3 dollars more than other stores. If the prices were normal id give this store a better score but dont come here if youre looking to save money.

I've been going to the store for many years dating back to when it was called Extra Foods. Some of the prices are a little bit high but there are also a lot of really great deals. It is definitely worth it to sign up for emails and get notifications of flyers and special deals. Some of the prices on things there especially for meats can be better than Walmart or Superstore. The staff is also always very kind and helpful. I live quite close to Independent and like to support their business as much as possible.
