I have been referred to AMVIC by an insurance company and two body shops. I have called them twice in the last week, left messages both times..... They can't even return a phone call. How am I supposed to have confidence in AMVIC when they can't even return a call?!

Absolutely brutal. My case was closed seemingly with prejudice because I didn’t respond to an email they claimed to have sent me. Not true. I looked for a so called email and it doesn’t exist. The case worker who called me was on the offensive right away, which was super strange. The called ended abruptly. I don’t even really know what happened. What I do know, is this council is clearly not for the consumer. We got ripped off and they will do nothing. I couldn’t produce the original advertisement. Ok. But why not look into the business practices anyway, if you’re truly wanting to get the bad dealers. That’s what I was looking for in the first place, not reimbursement. If you get scammed or the such, don’t bother calling amvic. Ridiculous.

I guess $6.25 per vehicle buys the dealerships immunity when it comes to fraud through quite the partnership with AMVIC. We filed a legitimate complaint and after not hearing back, I followed up. Within an hour I had a letter saying my file was closed, they called the dealership who said there was no issue. No investigation, no request for additional documentation...they are partnered with dealerships and not looking out for consumers at all in our experience.

Submitted a complaint after Hyundai Gallery false advertised and refused to honor my contract. Garrett asked the dealership and that was the end of conversation and file closed. He did not ask me for any of my supporting evidence. It's appalling how they support unethical behavior when no other industry has this luxury. There mission statement is a joke, as there is no trust and integrity.

3 days after purchase my vehicle transmission started slipping. When I filed a complaint they said they needed a statement from a third party saying the issue preceded the purchase. When the third party finished rebuilding the transmission and provided the invoice with such statement then the inspector said the third party statement needed evidence because the dealership's documents said nothing about transmission. Therefore there was nothing AMVIC could do.In the closing letter the inspector wrote conflicting and misleading notes about the issue timeline. When I asked to her to revise she apologized but then gave a revised letter with the same false information only worded differently, and even a wrong case number.Appealing to the manager and the manager told to talk to the inspector again. Then both stopped responding.Incompetent and unethical.

Both Yoneke Alexander and Gerald Gervais should get their license revoked! I don't know why AMVIC hires grouchy, bitter, miserable people. I've had the displeasure of dealing with these two horrible individuals. Yoneke told me that You're not ready for a business" when she has no clue who I am and how successful I was in the automotive industry. Gerald on the other hand acted like he was understanding with my situation but they both ended up refusing my business license due to a mistake that was at no fault of my own- I was just a salesperson at the company I used to work for.I've waited longer than several months to obtain my business license and even struggled to get the proper documents due to delays. I also had a hard time answering some questions on the allocation form which is another reason why they refused me.This council shouldn't even exist- if you want to get your time and money wasted then go to these guys for help!"

AMVIC has nothing to do with protecting customers. It's about making sure the dealers can set the rules, and AMVIC will push all the small independent shops out that can't afford a massive support staff to keep up. They make every transaction difficult for all parties.

I've heard how hard it is to deal with AMVIC from so many others. However the experience I had with Malia has been Second to none! She had received our I documents and prossesed it the same day and even approved the license within hours! She was very pleasant and even fun to deal with.Anyone wanting good service reach out to here and remember always treat them with respect as they deal with alot as well.

Another completely useless regulatory body that is incapable or incompetent to achieve any objective in the public's interest. Don't believe me, just look at their paltry track record of winning claims against salespeople & dealerships annually. Their success rate is so pathetic that one has to question the validity of their very existence. Any sensible human can clearly see the bribery & inside deals done between this organization and the dealers.

AMVIC is basically in bed with the dealerships, and they have no interest in protecting us, the consumers. This is what happens when our provincial government “forgot” to give itself power to force AMVIC to uphold the law.
