Very nice place to visit, there are interesting conferences about different and interesting topics, I went to one about the history of Montreal’s police and few items from the police museum used by old time police, their 3rd floor changed 2-3 times a year for a theme exposition, I’ve ha seen there one related to Expo 67 and another related toMontreal City of Vice in the old days, their 1st stage you can find very interesting Montréal history divided by time periods, easy to understand and kid friendly, you can interact with certain artifacts ( only these will have the sign that you can touch) to enhance experience

Decent if a bit underwhelming history museum. I was expecting something more comprehensive but the exhibits at the ground floor only present a condensed history of the city, and there were more textual information than actual historical artifacts. That said, the presentation was chronological so it was easy to follow. And I did enjoy the special exhibition on the World Expo of 1967, located at the second floor. We thought we'd be here for at least two hours but only stayed for an hour. They charge a small admission fee ($7.50 when we visited). The gift shop was tiny and had nothing interesting to sell.I thought the Chateau Ramezay Museum in front of City Hall had an overall better presentation and narrative. Go check it out if you're interested in local history.

A really good local museum that has a nice overview of the history of the city of Montreal and surrounding area. The displays are excellent with lots of good props and maps and video displays.

Very little things worth to see. I don't think it worth the money. Luckily, we had a free family entrance.

Excellent place to learn about the history and development of Montreal. Exhibits in the permanent exhibit area on the first floor were very well done. Everything is bi-lingual. Second floor was an exhibition of Expo '67 and was very interesting as well. Although a little small, the cost is very low, particularly for over-55 and children. The facility is handicap accessible.Nearby on the Place d' Youville is the Montreal Founder's Monument/Obelisk and plaques noting the signing of the Great Peace" with 30+ native American tribes that finally made Montreal save for settlement."

A bit underwhelming probably cos I visited this place after the legendary Museum of fine arts. But for the price $7 it's okay. Lot of things to be read and learned about Montreal. If you are on a tight schedule you may consider skipping it too. The staff were courteous and the museum is very well maintained. Spend not more than an hour here.
