Champlain Lookout

Stayed there for a few hours till the golden hour. Absolutely loved it. Peaceful and beautiful

This is a beautiful area, at the tail end of it the Champlain Parkway. We drove out along the parkway this afternoon. I will say most people are attempting to drive entirely too fast through the park - there are far too many hills and sharp turns to be going fast. Go slow and think about what you're doing people!The lookout itself is stunning! It offers a great view of the Eardley Escarpment and a nice little trail that is down to one-way traffic...though there are enough people who seem to be incapable of noticing such things.The lookout should be accessible to most people, especially in Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons when you can drive to the lookout. Despite what Google Maps says, it is open.

It’s a nice view but during the day you have to fight cyclists who do not respect any road laws to get to it. Very dangerous road to be on.

I really enjoyed the hike, wasn’t too long and wasn’t too short. The views out there are terrific and really close to town. Felt like you were just outside of town but with country feels. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great time. I’m pretty sure the dogs are allowed on the hike.

The area is popular. Very relaxing, you can feel the serenity when you want peaceful place outside of the metropolitan where no car sounds, pollution, hassles, and what not.

It's the best place to see the sunset, only in summer and is closed in winter. There is a small trail which I think is just over a km long and is very nice. There is a beautiful viewpoint on the trail. I don't think you want to miss it.

Lovely lookout area. Main view point can be a bit crowded. There are lots of hiking trails around to explore!

It was an enchanting sight, one that truly made us appreciate the beauty of the Canadian outdoors.We highly recommend visiting Champlain Lookout to anyone seeking a memorable experience in Gatineau Park. However, it is important to note that reaching the lookout does take some time, so it's wise to plan accordingly. Absolutely beautiful and wondrous. The lookout has an amazing view throughout all (accessible) seasons. Summer brings out the luscious green and fall pops out all the wonderful yellow and red. Definitely worth the visit, hike or a drive up.
