Sun King Cleaners Toronto's Premiere Dry Cleaner

I brought my pants for alterations and when received I realized how badly it’s done, you can see stitches on the outside of the tissue. I told it to the employee and the guy was so rude and disrespectful, he literally yelled at me. Horrible job and horrible customer service.

1.5 star yelp rating speaks for itself.Unprofessional, poor management, no customer service, overpriced. Do not take your business here, it is not worth it.This company advertises on their website and in front of their store that they specialize in cleaning winter coats. I took my $400 jacket in to be cleaned only for it to be returned for faded and with discolouration looking like bleach or chemical damage on the back and front of the coat and the original colour completely faded. Please note the garment was brought in for cleaning in perfect condition.I brought the item back to the store and spoke with the gentleman at the front desk who clearly identified the damage in the front and back of the coat and stated it appeared to be “discolouration” from the cleaning process and he would pass it along to the manager who would contact me. Please note item was not worn after cleaning and stored in a dark closet that does not have a light.After almost a week wait, I received an email response from the owner which conflicted his own employees admission of fault. He stated that it was “natural discolouration” (google it, isn’t a real thing) because damage was only to the back of the coat (not true, was on the sleeves and front of the coat as well. They also said it would be caused by being stored in the sun (physically not possible in my home).There was no compensation offered despite spending nearly $100 to get the coat cleaned and the coat itself being over $400. The owner tried to blame the customer despite his own employees admission of guilt and they couldn’t even call us as promised but instead hid behind an email.I strongly advise anyone considering using this establishment to reconsider as they have poor business ethics and do not take responsibility for their mistakes.Please take the time to read the other reviews of items being damaged and the consistent lack of ownership or compensation provided by the company.

Paid 136$ to have a winter jacket cleaned - came out as dirty as before.They said : « we can clean it again but you sign a waiver that if we damage it it’s not our fault » - easy way out. Would never go back there.

A very disappointing experience!In the past, I've been pleased with Sun King's cleaning, and with their service. But I just picked-up my casual jacket, after its sleeves were shortened. The total: $52 + tax. For comparison, a quick search reveals that Gibson's Cleaners charges $40, NLefashion charges $45, North York's Premium Dry Cleaners charge $40, etc.When I complained, the counter-person did not even acknowledge the issue. She offered no explanation, no reduction, nothing at all. There was nothing cheery" about her service.Her lack of service is in sharp contrast to the great service I've received on other occasions at Sun King. And the high price for the alteration speaks for itself.Ugh!"

Set up an account online and never heard back from them, ever. A few months later I called to try again and apparently was blacklisted for ‘failure to pick up.’I never did business with them. So there’s nothing to pick up. And they never communicated that I needed to do something.I’m sure they’re very nice people but… this wasn’t a good first impression. And I tried to have it fixed as they’re the closest cleaner but they didn’t bother.

I’ve used this dry cleaner for years now. I have always gotten great results and when i go over the marks with the staff they go over the full garment opposed to only the ones i point out that i am personally concerned about. When there is a marking that is built in and overly difficult the staff go over to let me know if and how the garment will be re-clean in order to get the maximum result. Obviously every stain cannot be removed and that is logical that some stains are just overly embedded, it is explained to me and I have the choice to have it re-done complimentary once explained to me what can happen/be done to the garment. This gives me options few dry cleaners don’t offer in explaining rather than just be given back a garment that “here you go can’t be done have a good one!” When something is explained and given options it gives the client faith that they do take pride in the dry cleaners business, they care about the clientele, and they do go the extra effort.

I live just around the corner and dropped in to see if I could get an alteration done. The gentleman I spoke to was not very friendly, and told me their tailor only works on Tuesdays and leaves the office mid-afternoon. I work away from my condo on Tuesdays and can't make it in at that time. He offered no other solution. I was pretty shocked he didn't try to find a workaround - I guess they just don't need any new business.I ended up going to a great dry cleaner at Queen and Bathurst instead.

Michael is the best! I always go here for my dry cleaning. The staff are all so kind and communicate very well. I've been going here for over a year straight. They take great care of my investment pieces and luxury items. I only go here for dry cleaning in all of Toronto. Best place in the city.

Several weeks ago our property really needed to receive the clean laundry but because of the Friday long weekend it could not be delivered that day. We really needed the clean laundry because of the bookings we had that weekend and Michael went out of his way to send the clean laundry with an Uber out of his own pocket. This was so helpful to us that he went that extra step to make us, the customer, happy. It was very much appreciated. Any time we call he is very helpful and accommodating.Thanks for all your help.Debby
