Deb Podowski Acting Studio

This is my third month of acting classes with Kaaren and it is way more then I thought it would be.You learn so much about yourself as a person and actor and really learn to let go. Really excited to be a part of these classes and look forward to continuing on.

I have been a student at Austin Tuck with Deb Podowski for quite some time. I cannot say enough about her brilliance and her dedication to all people who are chasing a (damn near impossible) dream. I can guarantee you it is not whatsoever about making money with her. Extremely practical instruction driven by pure passion and respect for the craft of acting. It's an honour to be her student.

Having taken a class every Monday with Deb Podowski at Austin-Tuck studios for over a year, I can honestly say there is nothing that she cannot do. She’s caring but she is also a tough-love teacher. She expects you to be prepared and that expectation creates hard work. Because of scene study with her, I have gained confidence, found where my emotion lies and learned how to truly dissect a script. I feel Austin-Tuck Studios is the best acting Studio in Vancouver. I have tried several others and this acting school holds it own. The prices are very affordable(especially when comparing other acting classes). I recommend Deb Podowski's on-camera class if you want to strengthen your game in front of the camera.

The studio is such a great space to practice your craft! I have been taking scene study with Deb for about a year now and I love it. Deb is a great coach, she doesn't try to tell you what you should do or how to do it but instead pushes you to figure out what works for you and to always go further and work harder. In her class you learn to develop a work ethic and good practice for working on any scene or character. She's really good at pinpointing which areas you personally need more practice in and she pushes you in that direction. Everyone in the class works hard and you learn so much by watching everyone else work as well!

Ok, here's the deal; If you're an actor and you are in need of a shake up in your mindset, your process, your ability to see deeper than the text, your understanding of relationships with other characters, their relationships to you, your relationship with yourself, what's at stake, what you want, what they want, to breathe a life into your character(s), to bring a life to the story, to draw the audience in, to make them hate you, love you, need you, want you to win, lose, live or die, to understand you don't need to shed tears to show you are being pulverized on the inside, to be representational NOT presentational and to challenge yourself beyond anything you could have ever imagined in your acting life..Then I'd say you need to attend Deb's class.She will help you.
