Ordered the aburi sushi combo from their lunch menu. The rice was mushy and felt like the vinegar wasn't mixed properly. The ikura was overly salty, not like the ones at other places where there's a slight flavour of something else. The seared fish was alright, but a big part of nigiri dishes is the rice, and this one was very subpar.Would not recommend this dish. The Miso cod however is very worth it and would highly recommend.

First time coming to the restaurant, the food is pretty decent, up and down in qualityTempura - way too much flour and very soggy insideGrill scallop - super fresh ingredients, well cooked and solid seasoninggrill oyster - creamy, and not overwhelming, the oyster is fresh and very juicyChawanmushi - very good steaming skill, the egg is not too water, and the broth is deliciousUdon - the soup base is WOW good! Udon is firm and the seafood is decent :)taro platter (appetizer) - one of the best dish tonight, refreshing taste and good presentation!Ikura nigiri - decent qualityWagyu nigiri - we thought it was only okay, for $15/pc, we were expecting smoother and silky tasteUni nigiri - decent dish, super creamy but slightly too fishy"Four gras nigiri - love the grill mark and taste. A decent 8/10dish"

My wife and I come here quite frequently. The food is always fantastic and the service is prompt. I would say this is one of the more high end sushi restaurants in Richmond but you get what you pay for. The fish is always fresh and expertly prepared.

Nice food and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. We ordered delivery due to the pandemic but would love to try fresh at the restaurant next time. The food was packaged and presented well. No fault of the restaurant, but the delivery guy was very slow and by the time the food arrived the fried food was soggy, chicken was hard, and sushi started to warm up.

Not IN, but THE belly of the beast is the alluded crux of my family's dinner tonight. It was the cho toro or chutoro, the belly or thereabout of the bluefin tuna, that caught our curiosity among the varied items this restaurant offers with befitting setting and culinary expertise grafted from the land of the Rising Sun! It was not a misplaced hope of a wonderful dining experience. The cho toro, finely infused with comparably more of the 'benevolent' fish fat, is simply outstandingly 'oishii'! Giving complementary satisfaction are the different kinds of sushis we ordered with notable commentary about how well the different ingredients were blended. We've been to different Japanese restaurants, to include in Japan itself, and Ajishou's food quality is superb. Their sushi rice's texture is notably NOT grainy. I ordered nabeyaki udon and the broth is exquisitely balanced, juxtaposed to the quite salty noodle soup I had in Osaka! The squid was grilled to perfection with a nice slightly sweet sauce.

After dropping off my daughter to a cooking class, I needed a place to get dinner for myself. I ended up at Ajishou Japanese Cuisine. I had no idea how pricey the restaurant was. I walked in thinking, Most japanese restaurants have bento box deals

Ajiahou, one of the best Japanese restaurant in Richmond. The food is amazing! Anko liver tastes awesome. Kushiyaki are well cooked and flavored. With the sauce, brings to another level.

Very nice interior and great service. The presentation is beautiful that’s why the price reflects it. The food is so fresh and taste was delicious. I would definitely come back.

A premium quality sushi experience. The takeout was even wrapped in a cloth like bag. The hotate nigiri was juicy and sweet. The goose liver melted in your mouth. The uni was creamy and the salmon miso aburi was pretty and tasty. Also, the sushi rice was a perfect firm and chewy texture with the perfect amount of vinegar and sweetness. You do pay a bit more here, but the quality is there.
