Phone number is wrong on Google, you have to add 604. Even when you do your call... it will not be answered. We need better outreach programs.

In my experience, this is the best crisis line I’ve ever called. I met a lovely volunteer a few months ago who really sympathized with me, listened to me speak, and let me rant while also making me feel better. I’d say she saved my life that day, too. I’ve talked to 3 other volunteers and they’ve all been just as helpful; I’m a transmale and they have never been disrespectful while I spoke about my gender and experiences with being apart of the LGBTQ community. Whenever I’m feeling suicidal I call this hotline, and despite talking to other people in different organizations I’ve found that they never met the expectations that this one did— So thank you for all the lovely people who work here.

It was nice to talk to someone that sounded like they cared and could contribute to my solutions for nearly 30 minutes."Thank you for changing (SWIM's) mind."

I called here in a time of need and did not at any time tell them I was suicidal, they broke confidentiality by calling me back at my house for my husband to find out, and sent the ambulance looking for me! I would not recommend this place for anyone. On top of all that, they didn't say anything to me except mmm hmm" which I found to be insulting as I didn't feel like they had any answers at all. I'd be better off talking to a wall... I felt more like a science experiment where these counselling students study depressed people. Just the worst experience ever. Tried complaining about the breach of confidentiality but was given the run around and dismissed by Martin Ura

I do not recommend this place to anyone ever they are judgemental, rude and call you a week later and basically tell you your not allowed to call them when you have done nothing wrong. The experience I have had was very horrible and I would say find a different crisis line to call as they are nothing but judgemental and rude.

I have called in during hard times and also volunteered here for a year. Thank staff and volunteers are committed to helping the callers, and I so appreciate this service! It was challenging to volunteer here and I often felt as though was not able to provide perfect support to all callers. Please know that volunteers here want to help you but are human too. If the line is busy, leave a message and they will get back to you as soon as they can. The people who run the center truly care!
