Lux Nail Bar

I had a fantastic experience at Lux! Don (the owner) and Nhi (my nail tech) were both incredibly skilled and friendly, and made me feel welcome from start to finish. The salon was clean and comfortable, and I left feeling absolutely thrilled with my new nails. Highly recommend!

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and I am beyond satisfied. I went to a different nail salon a few years ago and they completely ruined my nails, but Helen has brought them back to life. I always go to Helen and Tran! They are absolutely amazing!!

The management and team at this nail salon is so attentive and accommodating. Everyone working at Lux nail bar is so sweet aBD professional. No matter which nail tech I get assigned, I’m always happy with my results so this nail studio is highly recommended!!

Each visit has been different. Hit and miss. Some techs are amazing, others I would choose to go elsewhere. Guess it depends on what you are looking to get done.

I will preface this negative review by saying that I own a business which does customer service for many other businesses, & I understand its importance. I also understand that everyone makes mistakes, however, it's how you handle those mistakes that determine who you are as a person & a business. Based on the customer service experience I had (which was because of an actual service experience) I DO NOT recommend this business to anyone, & suggest you stay clear. (See pictures)Dec 9th, I had biogel done, as I do every month. The next day, I got on a flight to Mexico & saw that my pinky nail had broken off - biogel is not supposed to break. I noticed because I cut my face with the sharp edge. Biogel is not cheap.I landed & had to have the resort fix my single nail. They did what they could, & it looked awful but I appreciated the effort. I didn’t appreciate the price, which was the same as the original manicure.I came back 10 days later & immediately called to have my nail fixed. I spoke to a receptionist whose English wasn’t great, & I had ask that, because I paid so much for one single nail to be fixed, I would greatly appreciate it if they could do a free biogel refill to put my nails on the same schedule of growth. She said sure.At that appointment, they tell me I have to pay for the manicure, even though I had asked ahead of time for it to be comped. They told me they weren't going to charge me for the nail fix (they shouldn't have anyway) even though the manicurist admitted she filed my pinky nail too thin & that's why it broke.I obliged & paid, & left a tip.A few days later, I saw a crack in the fixed nail, which then broke off, down to my nail bed - this time it really hurt. I couldn't fix this one nail again, & since all my others were long, the manicure I had just paid for was ruined.I went in & said that they should just shave the other nails to match the broken one (unhappy about the loss of the length), but my nail bed was so exposed, they shouldn’t be putting them hot biogel on the area in fear of damage. They INSISTED that they should fix it, telling me it didn't hurt that much & they do it all the time. I was shocked.They shaved my nails, & I told them that, at this point, I paid for 3 manicures & ended up with none. 1 on Dec 9th, the 2nd was the one nail, but expensive, & the 3rd was when I came back - I have been a customer for months & I would appreciate some remuneration for this ridiculous situation.Instead, they told me that since they could fix it, that was all they were willing to do. It was my fault I didn't let them, so they weren't going to give me anything. She dismissed the fact that my nail bed was exposed & that was dangerous. She said the manager would call me.The next morning, there's a cut on my finger where one was filed, & it throbbed & is now infected with pus.The manager calls me 5 days later, & tells me everything is my fault & I should have just let them do what they said. He also said I am always asking for things, when that is untrue. I ask for mistakes to be fixed. He said I complain about 1 woman, when I actually ask for her every time - it made no sense.When I buy something, I expect to receive what I paid for. If it’s broke, I will ask for it to be fixed. I buy a shirt with a hole in it? New shirt. If my nail breaks off after a $50 service, I expect a fix.Again, everyone makes mistakes. What I can't believe is just how horrible this entire experience was. They don’t care about their customers or their safety. They don’t care about their work.My company has made mistakes & we owned up to them. I've kept the same clients for years because they know we care about what we do.I do hope that they see this review. Salons are the second most failed business in Canada. While I don't wish that on them, I hope that this can be an eye opening experience to ensure that doesn't happen.

My first time here! Booked last minute and they still fit me in for a bio gel full set. It was very well done, Tran is super sweet and knows what she’s doing. My first impression is good but I will update my review if something changes.

Had such an amazing experience today here. Customer service was great. My technician was Tran, and she was super gentle and professional doing both manicure and pedicure. I was offered hot wax for my feet, and I must say it was perfect for this winter weather to sit there with my feet wrapped in hot wax and towels! Definitely will come again and recommend to others

Gone here twice and such a great experience. Patient and professional staff! And such a great job on my nails. Prices are really reasonable for the services you get.

I got my nail extensions done and the lady was super rude and asked me pay extra just because the length of my nails were long. I have never heard this before that you pay extra depending on the size of the nail and this charge was not informed to me before when I had already discussed the cost with them. This is very unprofessional as the staff was rude and forced me to make the payment. Also, I had done my nails before from the same place and was never asked to pay extra for the same length

This is always my most favorite nail bar. They did an excellent job everytime I came and I was very satisfied with the results. They are friendly, the owner was nice, funny and helped me pick the colour. I get so many compliments on my nail colour all the time. Sometimes they are busy but they still handle things really well. And the most important thing is that doing bio gel here makes my nail much stronger and my cutical looks much better also cause I used to bite my nails and now Im finally get rid of that habit. Would definitely suggest it to everyone.
