There is only one way to say it..., Emily is amazing! I brought my 2 year old rescue pup home from foster care at the end of January. He had been abused the first year of his life in Barbados, and had never been on a leash before. Martin was scared of everything and pulled like crazy on our walks. After 5 sessions with Emily, He responds perfectly to my set of commands and he walks perfectly at my side on our numerous adventures. Emily helped me achieve everything I asked for and gave me the tools to get even better. I highly, highly recommend Urban Canine for anyone who needs training of any kind. Thanks Emily!

Apollo exhibited leash reactivity and taking him for walks around the neighbourhood was painful. He would pull, bark, lunge and growl. Working with Emily transformed our daily walks.From the first session, I could tell that Emily was passionate and knowledgeable about dogs. She observed Apollo and I on our walks and created a customized training plan. Throughout the training sessions Emily was positive, understanding and patient. She provided clear instructions on how to train myself and my dog. She never made me feel embarrassed or judged due to my dogs behaviour.After the first few sessions, I started to see improvements in my dogs demeanour. He was more confident, calm and, focused on me rather than the dogs we passed. Apollo has since graduated from individual training sessions to joining Emily on pack walks with other dogs.Overall I would highly recommend Emily to anyone who faces similar leash reactivity issues or other dog behavioural issues.

Finn has been a member of the pack at Urban Canine for just under a year now, and I can’t describe how much join it brings him. All I have to do is ask him “are you going to see Emily today?” to get him dancing and looking around the room to see if she is here.Emily is prompt, friendly, and clearly an animal lover. She has always been accommodating, and the online booking portal is easy to use. I love seeing pictures of him running around with his friends posted to the Urban Canine Ottawa Facebook page at the end of day.Overall, I couldn't be happier with Urban Canines service. I first met with Emily for some puppy training as my pup was nervous around new people and seemed to be afraid of people running by her. She also got overly excited when passing by a dog on leash. Our walks were becoming stressful for me. Emily was patient with me and my pup and gave me the tools I needed to help my pup gain confidence. It was clear from the beginning that Emily knew what she was doing and cared for my dog. My pup is developing into a confident dog, she is now able to pass another dog without having a freak out as well as pass by runners without flinching. Our walks are now very relaxing.My dog also attends pack walks with Emily and loves it!I highly recommend Emily and the professional services she provides !

We had a great experience working with Emily for the on-leash training of our 6 years old dog, Rustam. Our dog used to focus on everything except our commands before we had met Emily. But there has been a drastic difference in how we walk post the training :) Emily is very patient and has a very practical approach to training which is easy to follow and practice. We had tried several methods over the last several years but hers definitely worked. And she made sure that we did not give up at any point. We are very happy with the training Emily provided us for our dog, Hazel. Emily started working with Hazel when she was a puppy and showed us how to crate train her, walk her on a loose leash and manage her reactivity. Emily was very patient and caring, customizing the training to our specific needs and goals. She worked with everyone in the family to help us be consistent in our methods. The techniques Emily gave us were effective and easy to implement and helped us navigate the challenging puppy stage making Hazel a better-behaved and happy dog.Hazel has also joined Emily's pack walks which are the highlight of her week allowing her to interact with other dogs in a safe and fun environment. These walks have been great for Hazel’s socialization and confidence, and she always comes back very content and ready for a long nap! We are so thankful to Emily for helping us have a better relationship with our dog.

Emily has been and continues to be an incredible trainer for our high energy and nervous dog. Her professionalism, knowledge and kindness have been so helpful in dealing with a dog that had some challenging behaviours. Our dog has benefited immensely from the pack walks - they have increased his confidence, provided an energy outlet and allowed him to socialize with other dogs while under the supervision of an experienced trainer.
