Phenomenal experience! I had the privilege at the end of Sept. 2022 to go whale watching with this crew. They were very knowledgeable and respectful of the whales. They shared their enthusiasm of the interaction we were having with the whales and for the bird sightings. I recommend Mariner Cruises for an educational, considerate and fun whale watching experience.

The zodiac was so much fun and a total bonus for getting to capture whales and their tails! Great skipper for the tour!

It's quite an adventure just getting to Mariner Cruises and the time on the boat was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and you could tell they 1) cared for and respected the whales 2) wanted everyone aboard to have a great time.We would not hesitate to book again if we were in the area!

Highly recommended, particularly if you just want to go with the “flow of your day” while doing the scenic drive along the Long Island & Brier Island. We left Digby Town around 10am and just-in-time lucky to get on their 12.30pm tour yesterday. And we saw a few big whales & truly appreciated their impromptu narrations; very insightful & friendly indeed. On our way back to Digby, we stopped by to check out the amazing world-famous Balancing Rock; certainly a very unique landmark eh!

An incredible experience from the office to the end of the tour. There was a a healthy respect for safety on the boat by the team before we started the tour. The crew made a great effort to get to chat with everyone on the boat, casually inquiring about where their clientele where coming from and chatting with the kiddos about their previous whale experience. You could feel the passion of the crew members and I appreciated their understanding that seeing whales in their natural habitat (any wild animal really) is a privilege and not a right! We saw tons of humpbacks, many see birds, and seals. The crew was very knowledgeable about the whales and successfully engaged the kids (and adults) with fascinating facts about whales, so much so that they have ignited a passion for whales in our youngest daughter. This experience was unique and I consider myself very blessed to have been part of a group that promotes the value of animal welfare and the understanding that these experiences are in fact a privilege.

One of the best experiences we've ever had! Begins with a detailed explanation of how to get there (you will need it!), continues with clear signs and a neat office on Brier Island. The ship is all clean and runs smooth. But most of all, our guide, Amy was simply fantastic! Her compassion, respect and enthusiasm for whales (and all living things, for that matter) is contagious! She made it not only enjoyable but also educational.Lastly, we were lucky to have whales come so close so many times. They literally gazed at us with curiosity.

What a fantastic trip to Brier Island! My wife, 3 year old and myself made the drive from Peggy's Cove and took the 4:30 cruise out. It was a beautiful August evening and we were lucky to see dozens of humpbacks. The staff were professional and extremely knowledgeable, which made the experience not only stunning, but educational as well. The boat was safe and comfortable for toddlers and we all enjoyed the trip! If you are debating between Cape Breton or Brier Island - think no more. Brier Island is the place to go if you want the best chance of seeing whales. Enjoy!!

Amazing experience with a fun and knowledgeable crew! They knew all of the whales by identifiers and could tell us their quirks. Highly recommend!

If you have never been whale watching please do yourself a favour and go! It’s an absolute joy being on board with Penny and crew from the sounds of being on the sea, to informative narration by crewmember, Amy. we also can’t forget the wonder and awe moment when you see a whale for the first time and think to yourself “wow how blessed we are to share the earth with these beautiful creatures” I’ve been whale watching with Penny and crew for 10 years every summer for a week. Everyday is something new to see, the wonders of the Bay Of Fundy are sure to delight you! Also bird watching is a must! You see so many bird species, you can only see off the coast. Brier Island is Nova Scotia’s best whale watch destination. You are going to fall in love with the people of the island, it’s calmness, and of course the whales.
