Pusateri's Fine Foods

I live one block away from Pusateris in Yorkville and have frequented this location for years. It’s always well stocked, clean and the displays change to suit the seasons. Pusateris has a deli counter, hot food section, in-house prepared foods (and they’re as tasty as homemade), soups and sauces, produce and vegetables, a coffee shop to sit in and enjoy a cup of Java and your favourite dessert from their outstanding dessert counter.The produce manager and GM have gone out of there way several times to accommodate my culinary requests and having worked in the industry for 30 years, they do customer service properly. Oftentimes in the past, before my work shift I would pop over to Pusateris and grab a couple of dozen treats (Shortbread and chocolate chip cookies are next level!!) for the crew and I was always asked if they were homemade - cause they taste amazing!!If it’s the conveniences of a corner store you’re looking for, they have you covered! If you’re looking for fine food compliments, specialized ingredients or imported treats, Pusateris is my first stop to see if it’s available … chances are if it’s a food item - they’ve got it! Being in the hospitality industry for years, I look for and appreciate excellent customer service. Their hospitality has always been exemplary and you feel welcomed when you walk through the door. 10 stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The neighborhood has 0 trust and respect for the store. Bad quality fruit always spoilt berries and on the verge or rotting other fruits. Fish very average quality at prices triple than anywhere else. I was told by an ex employee that the meat is supplied through the same exact channel as lab laws and no frills :) . super expensive and out of touch. Not busy for a reason. I think they sealed their fate when they tried selling sanitizer at $30 in the pandemic and Ford publicly condemned their ‘ business’ practices :)

Pusateri's Yorkville-- and, really, the chain at large-- is something of an enigma to me... It's quite clearly catered towards a higher-end clientele, however, much of what they sell is ordinary, if not downright lacklustre and disappointing, such as in the case of their prepared foods. I've now gotten some prepared foods from the Yorkville location on several occasions, and each time was more let down than the last. Whether it's their butter chicken wrap, which is just a sad, small, mushy, inauthentic, mess, or the truly atrocious breakfast sandwich I was served there the other day... Seriously, whoever's in charge of cooking your eggs needs to go back to day-1 culinary school... the sunny side up I was served a top a cardboard-like bagel had the whites still almost entirely runny/raw... I love a runny yolk, but the whites? Cook that through... The guacamole also had a bizarre, almost chemical, taste I couldn't quite figure out. Couple bites in, I had to toss it. Unacceptable. But really, most everything I've ever had from this location, and even the others, was such a let-down. You'd think the people who frequent this spot would have a better-honed ability to discern the finer things, but I guess not... or perhaps it's just a matter of being in a prime location, where those from nearing condos don't have many other options in a pinch. Can't wait to never shop here again.

Over priced. Lousy service. Prepare foods have gone down hill. Used to be a nice place. Too many horror stories now about infestation. Not sure what health department is doing.

I like going to this store from time to time for their bakery section. I had good brioche a while back. Not sure if they still sell this item as last time I came, they did not have it. Their lemon brûlée cheesecake was good as well as their pina colada and peanut butter cupcakes. Their custard tarts are good but I’ve had better ones else where. They have a more premium type of grocery. So the prices come with it too.

Some feedback for the managers of this store. I come often to the meat section to buy some meat. There is no bell or anything at the meat counter. I have to stand several minutes waiting and hoping someone will come and help.I just want a pound of ground beef or a steak and am in a hurry usually so the wait can be bothersome. I hope the store managers can put a bell there or something so I can get served faster.EDIT: Updated to 5 star review. I'm impressed that the owner responded to my review in under a day and welcomed the feedback. Since leaving my review, there is now always someone at the meat counter and I get served under a minute. The man who works at the meat counter is also very friendly and remembers what I get. They also accommodate my request to packaging the meat in separate packages of 1 lbs each. The quality of customer service is impressive and matched by the quality of the meats themselves, which are great. I see myself coming here for the majority of my meat purchases and will recommend this store to my friends.

Well, I must say that I have written 2 previous reviews on PUSATERI's one for the Bayview Village store and one for Avenue Road both earned 5 star reviews. Fisrt thing I want to make clear is that I am not getting paid for these reviews. I only wish to help others, looking for good places for food. I decided to use the on-line delivery system. I held my breath and placed my order and my God I was surprised every single thing we ordered was TERRIFIC. From the 3 Bean Salad, Pesto Bow Tie Salad, Baked Potatoe's, Cole Slaw, Chicken With Dill for sandwiches, Pasta Romano, Bolognese Pasta, Apples, Bananas, Spinach, and a few other things like bread and some delicious deserts. EVERY single item was FRESH. I have used INSTACART for over three years now. Let me say that I gave up long ago having to buy bread, vegetables, or fresh fruit. Every single time I ordered these items they would always arrive wilted, damaged and out of date. I was so happy to see that every single item had a long best before date, everything was in stock and the delivery driver was very nice too. Look folks with money these days we have to be aware of how we spend. You will NEVER be disappointed with PUSATERI'S EVER! I recommend them to all my friends, and I highly recommend them to you as well. GREAT FOOD. Take a look around these stores you will find something that you cannot resist..

The worst location in terms of customer service. You can stand there and wait forever, nobody will notice you. And when you’re trying to attract their attention, they will blame you that you’re giving them attitude. Really? The manager is simply a narcissistic guy, who doesn’t care about your needs. Knowing that the staff is absolutely the same.

Went to visit this location recently. They have the same wonderful selection as the Bayville branch, maybe a little less sandwiches options I would say.If you like beef burger you should definitely try their “traditional one”, is fantastic!!!I’m giving 4 starts regarding the staff. I asked if they had the full selection of burger types and she just said she didn’t know…not even considered ask someone else at the store. Luckily we were eager to eat burgers and we could find at a corner their small freezer.

Purchased a Rahier Raspberry Tart on Sunday from Pusateries Yorkville. Opened it today (Monday) since keeping it in the fridge and it is covered in mold. Shameful. Product management, storage and cleanliness is the basics in terms of the industry you’re in. First check off those boxes then focus on advertising, packaging, pricing, etc. Disappointing is an understatement. They are getting lost in the sauce. If you’re going to put such drastic margins on certain products or charge the higher prices you do at least have the professional quality control on the produce and products to match.Also, since I ate mold, I always buy the pre packaged two pack chicken there that’s from their Pusateries brand and it has a horribly weird smell to it. Sour vinegar. Not to mention I have seen cheese packages covered in mold. Long term customer but no more unless this is dealt with properly.
