Jawny Bakers Restaurant
Passed by this restaurant numerous times over the years without having going there. Decided to give it a try and we weren't disappointed. Spacious style interior with big screen tv's throughout. The service was top notch as the staff were very polite and attentive. The calamari appetizer was one of the best we've ever had anywhere. I had the Halibut fish and chips. The fish was battered nicely, not a huge serving but was very dense and filling. The fries was the only thing that was not that great, wasn't crispy at all. Oreo cheesecake was also a hit. Definitely will be back to try other menu items.November 1st, 2022 - Stopped by tonight for dinner. Service was great. Had the calamari again fantastic . The main was 8oz centre Sirloin with mash potatoes was good. Strawberry cheesecake for dessert.

Wish they were open later, but everything was fantastic. I'm not normally picky but really didn't like the peppercorn meal, my husband thought it was delicious! After expressing this to them they offered me a new meal even though the kitchen was closing and were just so kind overall. Definitely recommend!!!

I had my Mom’s Celebration of Life here on a Friday from 4p to 6p and it was perfect! They were able to accommodate 40 people without issue and it was a pleasure working with them to organize the event, especially given that I do not live in Canada. On the day of the event, everything went smoothly. There was always an attentive server checking with guests to see if they needed anything, and the food throughout the event always came out hot, and just at the right moments. I could not have asked for a better experience for such an important occasion. I would recommend having an event here to anyone.

Classic Toronto restaurant with a reasonable menu of BBQ (ribs, steaks and burgers) and comfortable food. Service is always quick, reliable and friendly. Inside is setup well with ample space for quieter meals or larger groups. Collection of tvs to if you are looking to catch the game. Definitely a staple of the neighborhood and worth a visit if you are looking for a quality meal in East York

I visited this wonderful restaurant with a few of my buddies after a final exam. The food was amazing and the steaks were cooked to perfection (best I've seen in town). The restaurant gave off a warm atmosphere while retaining elegance, making it a perfect location for a nice date. The service was also exceptional, Olga was extremely friendly and gave great advice on what was best on the menu. Overall, the experience was nothing short of 10/10 and I cannot recommend this location enough to everyone. Do not hesitate about visiting this establishment!

Honestly, the only positives were the food was hot. The value did not match the price. We have dined at JB numerous times in the last 15 years, and we have seen a significant drop in the quality of the food and service. We were a group of 7 and had two orders of Halibut and chips. The portion size of the fish did not match the value. The Shrimp Salad didn't look appetizing. The bacon on the burger looked like it had been cooked at breakfast. Overall, not worth the money.

We have been coming to Jawny Bakers for over 12 years when our son moved into the area. It's usually been good food for good value. I asked about fish tacos and since it was only two small tacos for $23.89 my son and I opted for fish and chips for 27.89. Well, we were shocked at the size of the fish for that price. Two small pieces that were mostly batter. When the server came to ask how our food was we told her how disappointed we were in the size of the food and she apologized. We asked that our comments be passed on to the manager. A manager never followed up with us and I watched for a manager but could not find one. The food was hot and tasted fine, but I will not return because of the value of the meals. Our grandchild's chicken fingers were larger than our fish. I can compare the meal to a fish and chip meal at Jack Astor's on Front Street last weekend. There was so much fish I took the second piece home. The cost at Jack Astor's downtown was $23.65 for two big pieces and fries and at Jawny Bakers it was 27.89 for two small pieces which were mostly batter. Where do you think I will choose next time? At least we expected the manager to speak to us, but no.Update: I changed my star rating from two stars to one star due to the poor response from the owner. He is passing our comments to the right people? I would think that the owner would be the right person. As well, we did more than try" the restaurant after coming for 12 years. Tasty food, friendly staff, and a nice environment. They were super helpful and always provided a good and quality service. I reserved the 20 people dining room for my company, and it was amazing.

The food was really good and the portions were very good. The flavour was really good . The space was very spacious.the cheesecake is not made in-house . Overall a good experience. The parking is limited . 8.5/10
