Some of the staff there are amazing. But there's a few that are abusive and if the staff didn't like you when you leave they call CAS with false information. This happened to most of the girls that were there when I was there. Some of the staff like to pull rules out of their butt whenever they feel like it. The staff is also known for gossiping about the ladies in the shelter. My main support when I was there was the other girls. I dont regret meeting the girls there but I wish I had never gone to St Mary's.

It's truly amazing here not just the place but the programs and staff too!!

They treat you like family that when it’s time to move you feel really sad that you are leaving everyone. everyday someone is telling you how great of a job you are doing as a parent. Yes there are some rules to follow but they tell you everything before you decide to move in. the staff is literally the most amazing women there could be, and the girls here are nice and very friendly, You get free meals, and are very respected. i would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you everyone for putting a smile on my face everyday and the support you gave me.

This place made me a DAD, I went from a life of diappointment to fighting for my child and winning!! It's all thanks to ST. MARY'S!!

I've been a client of St Mary's since 2012 and I plan on staying until I age out in 2020. Great support systems for the parents and great programs for parents and children alike

I loved this place. I went for 9 years and they helped me in so many ways. Thanks saint marys for all the support you have given me and my children throughout the years. I have nothing but positives to say about this place.

Went to deliver an item there and ended up taking a tour of the place. Thirty years prior this was my elementary school. The amazing receptionist went out of her way to take me down memory lane. Thanks.

Stayed here for 3 weeks. One of the weeks I spent in the hospital cause they gave me someone else’s medication which caused me to vomit so hard I got a tear in my esophagus. Most of the staff was friendly except for one woman who kept trying to force me to take my meds too many times a day who also tried to refuse to let me go to the hospital when I was given the wrong meds, when I asked her to call an ambulance because I could not stop throwing up they called a taxi which I had to pay for myself. Also had to fight so so hard to not throw up in this taxi, I don’t understand why they didn’t call an ambulance when I very obviously required immediate medical attention. When I got to the hospital I crawled in because I was in so much pain and the nurses from the maternity ward were baffled I was sent alone in a taxi in the state I was in. They also have unreasonable expectations regarding pregnant women and women with newborns following their preset schedule. Also, when I am paying to live somewhere I don’t see how it’s fair that I have to follow someone else’s schedule? Which leads to the further question, why is this place called a women’s shelter when it’s more of a room and board type of deal? I was not bothered paying for my room but the heavy shelter rules on a place that costs the same as the average room rental is crazy. My final straw to leaving the shelter to stay with family out of town was when I woke up one morning to a screaming match between a staff member and client which included a lot of profanity and was very stressful and scary for everyone including babies. I won’t explain what the issue was but the client had every right to be mad, the staff who was bothering her was an older French lady named Elaine (I think that’s her name at least). The staff after 8 pm are a lot better than the day staff, the day staff are older women who see you as their job while the night staff are newer to the social work world and actually care/ see clients as people.
