Absolutely excellent.A few years ago (June 2019), our rental property had a flood and we needed to strip everything and completely redesign the kitchen. IKEA was the obvious choice given how small the area was. TFK did the install and everything was great.Until this summer… we had a small flood (ugh, 1960’s bungalows) that necessitated the wife and I staying in rental to remediate and contain the water. That’s when we noticed that the IKEA designer made a bad design and had a super awkward cabinet hung.I called TFK and asked about swapping the cabinets to make it more functional. They said “no problem” and fixed it.These guys are great, very professional and reasonably priced. I HIGHLY recommend.

We were referred to TFK through IKEA and have been very pleased with their work. We did some of the renovation ourself, and TFK staff gave helpful advice at each step of the process. They were flexible when we had to change dates, and responsive to any requests we had. We expected high quality work and our kitchen turned out beautiful. Thank you to all the staff at TFK , we would definitely recommend them.

I used TFK Kitchens to install a new kitchen in my mother's condo. We had a great experience overall and would use them again. A couple of their subcontractors were not great at showing up when they said they would, and we understood that days on site can change but a litter better communication would have been appreciated.They were very responsive and patient with any questions we had and were excellent at explaining things we didn't understand.At the end of the job they were excellent when discussing the final bill and, after I had approved the final cost they were very honest and stated that there were items that needed to be removed from the final bill that I had not noticed.

I wanted to take the time to write a thorough review about TFK after they completed a main floor reno for us. We obtained many quotes from reputable companies. Marcel's quote (TFK) was not only the quickest to come back to us but was transparent and thorough which gave us a realistic idea of costs involved. Other contractors (not all), sent us back a sheet with a number on it that was ridiculously high with no explanations. We chose to use our own designer (not TFK's) to develop our plans including elevations and specs, so I can't speak to TFK's design team, however, Cheryl was great at offering suggestions if one needs! TFK's crew was very pleasant and we always trusted them in our home. We do want to give a shout out to one of the hardest working members of their team from our perspective... Troy! Give that guy a raise-he deserves it.TFK has a small crew and they sub contract their trades such as tile, flooring, electrical and gas. I will say their tile setter is top notch- wish I had his name as our tile was installed flawlessly. No complaints about the other sub contractors either. I don't know if any general contractor is actually accurate on time frames but TFK was pretty good- we modified our plan a bit so that contributed to the delay we experienced. They would provided us with a weekly schedule and for the most part, stuck to it. Were there hiccups, yes. I don't believe you go into a reno free of this. Their communication with us was always prompt if there was any issue.I will bring up one area that needs improvement- the crew and trades are supposed to be signing in and out on a sheet that they keep in your home which is a great idea! Sadly, this was rarely completed by the crew which I didn't really question until we were billed for a large number of labour hours that we believe was above what was actually worked. When I checked the sign in sheet, it was not completed by the crew most days. There were times crew left early and this was not reported correctly to Marcel/Greg. In the future, I would ask the crew to always use the sign in/out sheet so customers see how many labour hours were put in and everything stays honest.TFK is overall a fantastic company. We enjoyed our time with them- equally glad for it to be over because well....renos are not for the faint of heart. Would we recommend them? Yes. We love our new space!

Thank you for the amazing transformation; functionality and adding so much value.Marcel, Cheryl and their team transformed our dingy basement; created a spa-like bathroom, new bedroom and living area. They worked with us in the design as well as revamping the main floor bathroom.We are very pleased with the outcome. (windows and doors replaced)Great Subcontractors, all were competent and reliable. Electrical and plumbing very professionally done. Marcel and Cheryl were responsive to any questions or concerns. We have gone through a frigid winter and now, a hot summer; everything exceeds our expectations, all within budget. Tile work is exceptional!(only minor issues, all resolved when Marcel was informed.)

TFK beautifully renovated our kitchen in Fall 2021. They were incredibly helpful & thoughtful in the design process; precise and coordinated in their scheduling; amenable when we as clients would expand the original scope of the project; friendly & responsive in their communication; and creative in their solutions. Moreover, TFK works alongside contractors that share their values of precision and quality work. We would definitely recommend TFK Kitchens for your kitchen renovation!

We were connected to TFK Kitchens by Ikea when we purchased cabinets for a downstairs bar project (mini kitchen essentially) and large entertainment center. TFK was easy to work with, as were their associate suppliers/installers for the other components of the project like granite counters and and tile. All the tradespeople were very friendly and professional, the job was coordinated well and the TFK office staff were also very friendly and responsive. We were kept up to date with the project progress/trade scheduling and any adjustments to the original project quote was transparent. Definitely happy with our project.

TLDRPros -- Work was completed (eventually), budget stayed in check, most people were nice, great subcontractorsCons -- Took nearly 2.5 times longer than scheduled, bad communication, incompetent project managerWe decided to go with TFK after initial strong impressions from initial design and walk through visits and receiving comparable quotes from a couple other businesses. I cannot claim this was the worst experience a home owner could endure when going through a reno. I know a lot of people get taken advantage of, have budgets that blow up, or contractors that simply don't finish the work. That was not the case; we did eventually get what we agreed to and the end product was good.Unfortunately, our overall experience was not good and that mostly rests on the shoulders of project manager, Marcel. Marcel scheduled an unattainable 5-week timeline for our project. We are not contractors, so we did not know to question it. We did expect delays, after-all that's what happens with renos, but every single week maybe 1/2 of the scheduled work would be done and the schedule would be adjusted... Our project took 12 weeks.I don't think we were crazy to want to know when people were going to be in our home. We asked from the start to have a simple line of communication, ideally a day before, to let us know when to expect people. Since the schedule was never reliable, we would otherwise have no idea... Every now and then I would get a text from one of the TFK guys but more often than not I would get no response, no update, nothing.Out of desperation, I looped Marcel back in directly. Initially communication with Marcel was good; he appeared understanding and accommodating. But he was also never onsite and clearly not communicating with his guys. At several points, it was left to me to update him that the work he scheduled was not complete or that there was an error, so he could adjust the schedule. Marcel tried to tell us that some of the install errors were acceptable issues (they weren't). And the icing on the cake was when he told me that I 'expect a cheap job, with perfection at a fast pace', when he was the one creating the schedule, quoting the costs, and staffing the work. Not once did we demand a faster pace despite week after week of delays. We didn't expect perfection; we expected errors, accepted the minor ones... but if there was a glaring error, we asked it be fixed. Throughout the project, I sought clarity on new costs and cost options, but not once demanded a cost reduction. In fact, without complaint I did easily 30 hours of work on incomplete/delayed tasks that the TFK team was quoted to do, to try and keep the project on track. I also agreed to take on another 30+ hours of work to keep our budget in line.The saving grace in all of this were the subcontractors. Despite all the other issues we experienced, the subcontractors Marcel hired were fantastic. Every single one of them communicated when they were going to be there or if they needed to reschedule, showed up when they said they would, answered questions, and took ownership of any errors. I wish I knew all their business names to leave them separate reviews, but thank you to K&J Granite, Thistle Electric, Raydian Painting, and the other subcontractors who supported our reno. I will also say, that despite the poor communication with the TFK guys, when they were onsite, they were always friendly and hardworking (especially Troy!). TFK design and accounting staff were also responsive throughout the project.Long story short... we will definitely take our mudroom and bathroom renos elsewhere.

Wow! We worked with this amazing team, as they do installation for Ikea Kitchens. This team is amazing. First Cheryl came in and offered some great design suggestions, then Brett reached out (on time) to let us know when Craig would be in to install (again on time and what a great guy) Craig respected our home and treated it like he was working in his own home and did a fabulous job. They saved our bacon by providing an electrician and a tile installer when our prearranged trades people bailed out. The entire team is outstanding (that include Courtney in the office and the follow up installation fellow who’s name I can’t remember). The real bonus we have a showroom kitchen thanks to these professionals. Thank You TFK Kitchens.
