Tackle and Trails

Tristan and the team are incredibly knowledgeable. Tackle & Trails is a little gem in the heart of the rockies. They have quality equipment and well known brands (Icebreaker, North Face, Osprey, etc.) I rarely see in a small town. In preparation for the Berg Lake Trail to Mt. Robson (3 nights and 46km round trip), Tristan was able to offer guidance about packing and suggested a great backpack suitable for this trip. I picked up an Osprey Aura AG 50 Backpack that was replacing my current 60L Gregory pack. I was adamant about purchasing a smaller pack but after using equipment in the store to replicate packing for this trip it was clear a 50L was a good size.

If you need hunting, fishing, archery or trapping supplies you need to check them out. They also have a great selection of used firearms. They also provide service on firearms and archery equipment. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

This is a good local shop with knowledgeable staff. They have an awesome selection of flies and jigs, many of which are locally made. They keep good stock on well priced fresh and frozen baits. They have a really good selection of trapping supplies. They also have new and consignment rifles with a good selection firearms accessories and ammunition. A decent archery section. There are all kinds of locally produced goods they sell such as gloves and mitts. They carry items that you won't find in the larger chain stores. If they don't have it, they can probably get it for you fairly quick.

Poor customer service. Wanted to add 1 family member to my Rod and Gun Club and the Cashier at the store said this was not allowed. We drive quite the distance to enjoy this range, and are on the waiting list for a few others. Provided the Rod and Gun Club doesn't have a waiting list, you would think they are open to increasing the amount of memberships.

Nice outdoor shop. Large selection for hunters both archery and rifle as well as trapping supplies. Friendly staff who are willing to help. Large selection of camping equipment also.

We drive 1.5 hrs just to buy from these guys! Always amazing service, and go out of their way for their customers. Have the best quality products in central Alberta. Can’t wait to use my new APA! Thanks for the great deals and phenomenal service today. You rock!

Being a large guy I was finding it hard to get a life jacket my size . Went in and talked to the folks and they fix me up right a way and in three days hat a life jacket that felt it was custom built great job great people

Good all around smalltown outdoors store. Good selection all year for Hunting, Fishing, Archery, Rifles, Hiking, Camping & if they dont have what you are looking for they'll almost always special order it.Better than Canuck Tire by far
