Love this place!! Great trails, plenty wildlife, nice campground, friendly park staff - they even offered a story time by the fire at night where everybody could gather by the fire and have a great time. Clean and well maintained facilities. Free admission. Definitely beyond our expectations!

It’s a big open field where people can camp. There are individual spots, but nothing really separates them. If you want privacy, uh, stay in you tent? That said, it makes for a wonderful spot at night. It is a dark sky area, and you have a great view of the stars, with no bothersome tress getting in your way. If you’ve never seen the full night sky, I heartily recommend it!

We stayed in an Otentik for 3 nights. What a great experience! The Otentik gave us shelter from the wind (which was relentless), and there is also the Coulee Centre which has tables and a place to cook. There are very clean pit toilets, firepits, and the Otentik has a bbq, which was great. My only complaint is that there were some items in the Otentik that were broken including the screen on one window, and it was quite loud inside with the wind. The campground has direct access to several walking trails including Tipi Ridge, Broken Hills, and the Belza Day Use. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, coyotes and nighthawks at night, and lots of singing birds during the day. Very serene. The campground itself is very open, you are in the grasslands after all, so do not expect privacy at your campsite. You can shower at the Val Marie campground, but for 3 days it wasn't necessary to drive in.I would stay again. Great access for the Park and hiking.

Pretty awesome! Very clean very well taken care of. I didn't like the lack or trees, I get its the grass lands but.. well I like trees. I'm not saying they should plant some but it's something I enjoy. The after hours instructions weren't immediately clear. The over flow area which is for after hours campers was okay. It would have been nice to have the ability to get a different site if there were spits available. Maybe an online system of some kind?Over all great experience. Just a little confusing.

VERY unique experience. Due to the location and the presentation of the natural landscape has very little sign of human settlers. The experience of nature in it's natural form is breath taking, from the Bison to the Prairie Dog. You feel like you have stepped back in time to the early 1900's.When you drive to this location do yourself a big favor and continue driving on HWY #1 to Swift Current and drive South on hwy #4 as the maps show other access roads as highways but in reality they are little more than narrow and very rough ride especially if driving an RV or pulling a trailer.

A nice little campground that is far off the beaten path. The Coulee Centre is great to have. It gave us shelter from the rain and a place to cook. It also has puzzles and toys for the kids. There are a few downsides. There is no privacy between spots and the gravel pad is impossible to get a tent peg into. No one had an issue with my tent being on the grass though so it worked out. There are no showers or flush toilets. The road from the information center to the campground is pretty rough. If there was access to a shower this would be a 5 start campground.

Very interesting. The prairies as they were before settlers arrived. Excellent interpretive sites. Services include good campgrounds.

Awesome place. I expected less from it. We stayed in otentik for 2 days. And there was electricity, heater, fan, mattresses. You can make a bbq outside, there a gas in it. Washrooms are nice, mirrors and toilet paper.

This is a really cool campground! We stayed for a few nights. The pit toilets are literally the best kept we've seen to date on this continent... well anywhere for that matter. It's great for watching the dark sky, viewing Bison and playing with Prairie Dogs. The cell reception with Bell was ok in most areas, 4G LTE in spots and there is wifi in the information building. We got to watch clear dark skies and also a big storm roll in with epic lightning. The staff were friendly and the grounds kept well.As with any campground, the sites are always too close for my liking, but in saying that, the sites here are pretty well spaced in comparison. It is literally wide open space though, so no privacy, but still no issues there. Was surprised to find a lot of trails were mowed so it's easy to find your way around and go exploring.
