Alumnae Theatre Company

We attended a community theatre event and although all mandates have been lifted we were required to wear a mask and show proof of vaccination. They was no notice of this when we purchased the tickets so we were unprepared when we arrived at the theatre. The theatre has a link on their website that explains the policy but not when you buy tickets so if you don’t go looking for it this policy will catch you off guard.

A total gem in Toronto's theatre community as well as for Toronto's arts & culture scene in general. The venue spaces inside are older and have less bells and whistles of other theatre venues, but they also have a charm and history that are worth the trade-off. Their regular programming is bold, creative and entertaining with topic matters that are relevant to inclusion in today's landscape. In addition the space is used by outside groups who also craft amazing experiences. As someone who has performed at this theatre, I can say that the facilities backstage are also well-crafted (yet simple) and there's everything a small production might need. Overall, a fantastic venue and theatre company that should be cherished.

We went to see the New Ideas Festival! Such a great idea and a wonderful evening. Cute and cozy theatre space!

Great venue! Pleasant staff. Play was ok but overall an enjoyable experience.

I always say this, “Theatre spaces have a very distinct smell.”The moment I entered Alumnae, it took me back to the theatre spaces I have grown up around.

Lovely little Theatre. Also known as The Irish Theatre. Full calender of events online. Historical building that was a Fire Hall.

Attended the Talk Mind comedy show with COMEDIAN White Yardie and loved it! Nice, cozy venue, easy to find and not confusing. Good lighting and seats.

Great theatre, cozy size and comfortable seating with clear view from every seat.Accessible by public transport.Thank you for a great performance of The Nest!!
