Shoppers Drug Mart

The pharmacy here is a disaster. Have been using them for 9 months and regularly need to refill prescriptions for my type 1 diabetic son. I have never experienced so many issues ever. Whether it be them putting through prescriptions to billing and then upon pickup telling me they are out of stock, so many system malfunctions, errors with billing insurance etc. I've never seen such a poorly run pharmacy. I would highly recommend you choose somewhere else, and I've witnessed other patients all having the same issues. So poorly run.

I was prescribed a medication that I need to inject. The staff at Shoppers Drug Mart Chemong pharmacy were unable to provide me with guidance. They were unable to provide me with the correct syringes. They were unable to provide me with a sharps disposal box. Ultimately, I feel they gave me harmful advice.I asked to speak to the pharmacist to give me advice in the injection process, but as they didn’t have the correct syringes they just told me to drive around to other pharmacies and ask for insulin needles. They recommended I tried private pharmacies, as they were more likely to have the supplies I needed. They did not walk me through the correct way to administer my medication. They just sent me away.I drove down the road to the nearest Rexall, and a very kind pharmacy technician walked me through the process to do my injections. She informed me that the needle the shoppers pharmacist told me to find was the wrong needle. She gave me the correct syringes, a sharps disposal box, and alcohol swabs, all for free. She made me feel confident and secure with my new medication.Like an idiot, I went back to shoppers for my refill. I asked if they had syringes this time for me, and they had nothing. Again they sent me away. I immediately drove to Rexall and transferred my prescriptions. I won’t ever go back.

I didn’t have the best experience with the pharmacy, but I did have one when i went to cash out on the front. Dianna (the cashier) was so kind and welcoming. Honestly haven’t had a customer experience like that in awhile. She had a warm smile and it definitely lifted my day.

Visit week of August 29, 2022. Staff friendly and able to assist in finding the product I need. Bright, clean, well stocked and convenient location. Groceries, pharmacy and postal outlet available. Mobility impaired accessible.

The pharmacy in this store is absolutely atrocious. They are run by the most incompetent staff I have ever had the displeasure of crossing paths with. Rude, self-entered, and ill-mannered with certifiable behaviour issues. If you also have problems with them the pharmacists name and licence number are listed on the sticker receipt you receive with your refills. Use that information to file a complaint with the Ontario college of Pharmacists on the website online. Complaints made to the college are taken seriously as the pharmacy is a separate entity operating within the shoppers drug mart. The shoppers customer service line cannot actually make a significant impact if you complain about the service you received.In case you’re interested in the story that accompanies my review, here it is:I have had repeated issues with them properly filling my prescription for well over a year now. Although today was the absolute worst. When I dropped off my prescription a week ago, I had the pharmacist confirm the quantity I would receive when they completed my refill. Went to pick up today and the exact same pharmacist only prepared half of it. Tried to tell me my prescription stated the quantity that was filled. Thank god I had a photo of the original prescription to hold them accountable. On top of that I was told they couldn’t fill the other half as it was supposedly on back order. Called another shoppers drug mart to have my file moved and the new shoppers confirmed with me that my medication was in fact NOT in back order and they had once again lied to me. The rag tag, poor excuse for a group of workers on staff openly bad mouthed me in front of me very loudly after I asked them to rectify their mistake. The time before this, they tried to tell me that my insurance didn’t cover my prescription. I had to call my insurance company in line and have them on speaker phone to confirm they did in fact cover my medication. The pharmacy still refused it and I had to obtain NEW insurance just to afford my prescriptions.Also to the worker behind the counter who felt the need to spitefully tell me to have a nice day when I was leaving, despite the fact that YOU are the ones who made a mistake and I had to get another pharmacy to fix it. You may feel good about that now, might feel like you won something. But I will move on with my life knowing I will never have to see your uncanny, Macbeth-witch like demeanour again. While you will spend the rest of your life serving angry customers like myself at your dead-end, unfulfilling job for the rest of your life.

Nothing but terrible service the last 2 months. They don't communicate with eachother. I was told my meds would be ready in 2 hours. I went 8 hours later and was told that I don't have any refills left. So i had to wait 30 minutes just for a months worth.

The pharmacist at the counter gave fake policy informatin about not having compounds or not making compounds and when I asked him how come all other shoppers are giving me the compound he said another lame reason, plus I have never seen a rude , misbehaving and worst client facing pharmacist in my entire life,...he should be removed for his bad behavior

I've been going here for about 3 years. As of last September 2021 the ownership changed and the entire pharmacy staff quit within 2 months. That should tell you everything. With the old staff I would have given them 6/5 stars now 2 stars is being very generous. If you must go to the pharmacy I suggest going after 9 or 10pm. The absolutely only reason I still go there is because they're open until 12am.

This pharmacy has gone downhill. Every time we go in to pick up medication, it’s either not ready, something has been forgotten, or it’s wrong. Today we went in to pick up meds, (this is our third trip trying to get prescriptions filled properly… and we live an hour away). While my husband was in line chatting with other people who’ve had similar issues. The woman in front of him was given a prescription for morphine that was not even hers, (completely different name). This is scary. I’ve completely lost trust in this pharmacy. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

Terrible experience at the pharmacy here. We had an emergency script called in from a radiation oncologist for medication to reduce brain swelling. Getting the meds asap was critical and we had to wait 45 minutes for the script to be filled. No one else was in store waiting at the pharmacy, they had the meds, yet still made us wait. Absolute abhorrent service.
