Metro Animal Emergency Clinic

We had a beloved cat who was 20 plus years old and she was on deaths door. My wife was/is devastated. This place fed into that and totally took advantage of my wife and neglected the well fair of the animal. Instead of offering a compassionate solution, they charged her over $1000 and sent her home with the cat. The poor cat couldn’t move and we were back the next day to euthanize our pet. But why wasn’t this done before? My poor wife would have mortgaged the house to extend her cats life, and these horribly greedy people played that up and charged my wife for tests and pills. I am totally disgusted how this place milked my wife for all they could and worse than that they allowed our beloved pet to suffer an extra day because of their greed. If you truly care and love your pets, avoid this place, they are here to make money even over the quality of life of an animal. I’m so disgusted with their greed.

Our cats got into an Easter Lily and ate parts of the stems. We rushed them to this clinic where they were immediately treated with induced vomiting and 48 hours of meds and IV fluids. Easily the hardest 48 hours of my life, not knowing if they would make it. Miraculously these 2 survivors pulled through and were able to come home last night thanks to Metro Emergency.We cannot thank this clinic enough for acting so quickly to save them and with so much compassion, no judgment, and love. Words can’t express how thankful we are for the care they received, the daily updates, the life saving measures. Would recommend this clinic to anyone experiencing a pet emergency. Metro Emergency Clinic was so helpful yesterday when I had to bring my foster dog in. Our issue wasn’t as urgent as others so there was a bit of a wait, which is absolutely to be expected. They called multiple times to check in on my dog and apologize for the wait time (which was absolutely no problem - I could see how hard they were all working) and most importantly were compassionate with my dogs care when I brought her in to be triaged. They were thorough, provided options on next steps, and were happy to answer any questions I had. It’s not an easy job, and the people at Metro Emergency deserve a round of applause for their hard work and dedication to serving the animals in our community.

after calling in a panic, they saw my darling cat Kaede right away. they provided thorough care and many treatment options as they figured out what was the matter. it is truly a blessing to have a service like this available and the staff were top notch.

My daughter's cat had a sudden unexpected stroke..her sole companion for over 10 yrs, a feral rescue. Vet gently kindly on phone explaining. The room we waited to say goodbye was calming as possible. Thank you for making Rocky pass gently over Rainbow Bridge and to be so understanding of my daughter's inconsolable grief. Amazing compassionate staff.

Today was a very hard and heavy day for my family. Unexpectedly losing one of our baby girls Scotia, was the last thing we thought was going to happen. We can’t thank Metro Animal Emergency Clinic enough for the amazing care they provided to us and to our baby. The staff is absolutely brilliant. They’re so welcoming, so caring, so empathetic and go above and beyond for their clientele. We’d especially like to thank Dr Patrick (unable to remember his last name). Out of every doctor we’ve ever had to deal with, he is by far the best. The amount of care, empathy, support and information he provided us with today, the amount of love he showed to our baby girl Scotia, the amount of work he did for her and us, was more than we could have imagined. Without him today, we truly don’t know what we would have done. He deserves a HUGE pat on the back for everything he does and for making the worst situation as best as possible, considering the heart shattering outcome. Thanks again to all of the team for everything they did for us, we truly appreciate it.

Short on funds for clearing a urinary blockage in a 6 yr old. Offered to euthanize for cheaper instead. Felt gross and inhumane. Don't support this garbage. Go to the SPCA of possible

I cannot say enough great things about MAEC! We took our dog there last Friday. He was on death’s door and the regular vet was unable to find the cause. They suggested we take him to MAEC for further examination and to watch him. After reviewing her notes, Dr.Harding at MAEC very clearly explained her plan to me. It was very thorough. She did a lot of testing to rule out surgery but in the end she felt that he had a foreign object lodged in his stomach. She was correct. They operated and discovered he ingested a chunk of plastic and it obstructed and bruised his intestine. They performed surgery and got it out. They kept us in the loop constantly even though it was the weekend and they were crazy busy. All of the staff we dealt with with very knowledgeable and friendly. He was in the hospital from Friday to Monday and I feel like he received the best care you could ask for. Here it is a week later and he is back to 100% (laying low though for another week or so) As for cost, it is remarkably reasonable in my opinion - And no surprises. He received around the clock care, XRAYS, surgery, medicine and most importantly, they saved his life - Priceless.Very grateful. Thank you MEAC.(Dash thanks you too if he could)

These guys were great! I was visiting from another province and my chihuahua had a scary fall down a flight of stairs. I was hysterical. They were very compassionate and reassuring. The techs quickly assessed her. And the veterinarian did thorough assessment. They didn’t up sell me on every test under the sun. I felt the assessment and recommendation was appropriate. My poor baby came away with a concussion and pain meds and recovered well! Thanks for your care! It was very scary and your compassion and skilled assessments reassured me she would be ok. :)

Metro Animal Emergency is incredible. Our miniature dachshund got into sugar-free gum and had xylitol poisoning. We immediately rushed him to the clinic and they went to work right away at helping our pup and explaining everything to us in an informative and calming way. Our little guy had to stay 2 nights and we were able to call for updates at any time and both the techs and vets took the time to fill us in thoroughly. Fortunately, he made a full recovery and we'll be forever grateful to Metro Animal Hospital. I hope you never have to go there, but if you do, you're working with the best!
