Just had my first experience at Carol's Cafe!I was dining in and could not be happier. While the menu contained all the classics and a few rarities, and the special was quite attractive, I was hungry and went for Combo C - hamburger steak, 3 eggs, hash browns, and rye bread.Let's just say when the friendly waitress placed the steaming hot fresh looking, well presented and unbelievable fragrant plate in front of me I knew I had come to the right place! An assortment of jams and jellies followed a brown, red and hot sauce.Best shredded hash browns with fresh scallions and ham, lovely flavoring in the hamburger steak with a hint of nutmeg(?), eggs cooked to my request and rye bread slathered with butter, the coffee hot and the water wet!Anyway, if you get a chance I would head in and bring your family and friends. It's all home cooked, it's not frozen and it's homestyle. Will stop in next time I come this way south!Even though I'm full to the brim, reflecting on this meal has me ready for round two!Bye for now!

Tracy our server, was fantastic, and even though she was serving 22 people she did it without delays. The bacon like the Real Farm bacon, real tasting thick slides, and the waffles my partner had we heavenly. best food of our trip!

Had the waffle. Was very tasty. Service was amazing. Enjoyed the picture gallery while waiting for our food. A quaint spot to visit.

Some of the meals at our table were very high priced for the serving offered. The waffle explosion was the biggest disappointment. One Belgium waffle with very little fruit and a whole lot of whipped topping.

If you want a nice home cooked meal, come here! Our food was good. Our server was attentive. We liked the quiet to have a good visit. Lots of selection on the menu including a long seniors menu.

What a gem! Rarely do you find a non franchised restaurant on a major highway outside of a city that gives you the best in food, service and atmosphere. Prices are extremely reasonable- considering the rising cost of food, portions are very good and it's very clean. So if you're in the area stop in and support this fantastic restaurant.

A really nice classic highway diner experience!This place felt very authentic to its rural roots! Our server Joanne was helpful and welcoming. The food was solid and priced very well! The combos are “trucker style” so they have a little extra food on them.I also appreciated the local art that was showcased on the walls from local artists. Prints and painting featuring the prairie beauty was great to see.Definitely a cool place to stop in!
