When we got our new puppy, Molly, we did a lot of research into which vet to sign up with. A good friend works for a company that provides diagnostics, testing, imaging, etc., for the vet industry. When this friend reached out to a few colleagues at work in the Halton region asking for a suggestion for our family, every single person suggested MacKay's. Furthermore, we have a friend who is a vet in Toronto, and when we asked her, she immediately suggested MacKay's, and stated that she knows Dr. Tome, who she called brilliant".After our first 3 visits

We have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and have been taking them to MacKay’s Animal Hospital for the last seven years.In our experience, Dr Ian McLean has been the primary care giver for both the dogs. Over the years he has provided continued support and expert care for them. A recent sequence of events is worth writing about.Dr. McLean performed extensive dental work to Thomas (our King Charles spaniel). Thomas’ teeth were in such disrepair that the dental work required two procedures to address. Dr. McLean did not want to keep Thomas under anesthesia longer than he felt was safe. Both dental procedures required anesthetic and post surgical pain management. Together, these procedures were very costly for our family. However, they were necessary to address the discomfort created by the rotting teeth. Unfortunately, after two surgeries, there was a small complication remaining under the gum line that Dr. McLean was unsure how to resolve. He shared Thomas’ dental records with a doggie dental surgeon in Guelph, and the advice he was given was that Thomas would need a third (short) surgery to remove a small deeply embedded piece of tooth root.Dr McLean insisted that we have the third surgery and to make certain we did; he himself paid for it. Sure enough, we took Thomas to an expert in Guelph, had the surgery and Dr. McLean picked up the tab. Dr Mclean cares deeply for our pets. He acts with care, honesty and integrity. We are beyond grateful to him and the staff at MacKays Animal Hospital.

Very personalized experiences, they truly care and do everything they possibly can. We've been going here with our dog for her whole life (12 years), sadly she is no longer with us. But we now have a new puppy and everyone was so welcoming and excited to met her. We will be here with our new girl for the rest of her life too!!

We have been going to MacKay's Animal Hospital for many years and have always found them to be friendly, helpful and caring. Most recently Dr. Michelle Tome provided the most detailed description whenever we sought treatment for our dog Goose in a most thoughtful & caring manner. Sadly Goose reached the end of her life recently and Dr. Will McLean administered the injection in a most considerate and gentle way proving he has his father's touch

Our 10 month old pup Rigby received excellent care from Dr. Will McLean during his recent surgery. A follow up call with detailed post surgical instructions were very appreciated Dr Will is a kind and compassionate vet, and the team at MacKay’s are always helpful and friendly. Thank you

I am beyond grateful for the staff here! I personally feel connected the most with receptionist Linda and Doctor Tome. Linda always answers our phone calls with a happy tone and even nicknamed our pup “Baby Raven”, which warms my heart and makes our (many) visits feel more comfortable. Doctor Tome is very knowledgeable about our pup’s condition and helped educate us on what was happening. She goes above and beyond for us, and we appreciate the hard work and love she puts into her job. I have never had a bad experience with any of the staff here, and they all make Raven feel safe and happy. They are definitely Raven’s second family!

I have nothing but great things to say about MacKay’s. The clinic staff always make sure our adult cat and new kitten feel right at home. Most recently Dr. William McLean has gone above and beyond for our cat, explaining medical terminology to us patiently, in a way that made us feel comfortable. Happy to say both our pets are always happy to be at MacKay’s.

Our puppy, a miniature poodle, has been going to Mackay’s for the past couple of months and I am so impressed by how dedicated this team is to their clients! Especially in times like these, they really go the extra mile to ensure you’re still receiving exceptional service. From the front desk staff to the vet techs, everyone is absolutely lovely to interact with. Dr. Will McLean is our Ollie’s vet. He is extremely knowledgeable and breaks everything down easily for us to understand and has been a pleasure to work with.Thank you Mackay team!
