Super 8 by Wyndham Red Deer

Awful hotel and way overpriced. They took my damage deposit because I had no towels - because I'd given them to the housekeeper! I also had my room broken into and it was then I realized the cameras didn't work nor did staff care. Long term residents bounce around rooms, or jump across balconies which explains the security breach. The pre authorized debit also charged me twice! The breakfast" was a bag with a muffin and juice and supplies were limited - a total joke. The staff were all very unhelpful and frequently turned to

Toilet didn't flush out at all, one bed was not changed with a clean sheets. On the side of the bed found somebody's house shoe. Some how they gave the same room key for other couples, after or 15 min check in

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, and I was absolutely disgusted in the staff there and how rude they were. There was one staff member there named Abby, he was very pleasant, helpful and accommodating.When I checked out today the charged me $20 for a makeup stain on one of the towels. Who buys white towels and does that? It's criminal! And charging $20 for a towel! I would suggest not staying here.

This place is a total dump! Not worth the inexpensive price. They advertise a minimal fitness area (treadmill, bike, elliptical) that has apparently been out of service for more than a year. The place is supposed to be non-smoking but reeks of smoke in each room, the hallways, and the lobby. The finish everywhere is poor. Floors are warped, paint is chipping, carpets are stained. We have stayed in some dodgy places, but this is the worst in a city, by far. Go stay somewhere else. Nearly anywhere is better.

I spent just over a month staying at this hotel, having been in multiple rooms, so this is probably the most thorough review I have written.Pro: decent location, close to lots of restaurants and shopping.Con: this will be a long write up.*Air conditioning, odds are you will not get a room with good working ac*towels/facecloths, or lack of. Be prepared to bring your own. If not, you will need to ask front desk, if they have any to spare. (They don't have enough to supply all the rooms, but say they are coming)*cleanliness, really not up to any standard. I would expect this level from a room you would rent by the hour.*building maintenance, this should not be a concern for anyone renting a hotel room, but in this case, it is. It's not uncommon to find ceiling fans, smoke alarms etc, just hanging off the wires. In one room, the deck baluster was literally hanging off of screws, with the bottom not attached. Very dangerous if you have kids wanting to go outside.*mold, had this in one of the rooms, so much that it was clearly visible along the floor on the carpet, as well as the carpet being very wet.Overall conclusion, they are perhaps the cheapest in town, but frankly, how this place has not been condemned is beyond me. The staff are very friendly, cleaners and the maintenance guy overworked and perhaps overwhelmed with all the work needed for such a small crew. The hotel claim they are upgrading the hotel rooms, but I believe this is a perfect example of a building that should be demolished and rebuilt from scratch.Save yourself some grief, and look elsewhere.

terrible experience.1) others have access to your room. i had someone with a key open the door at 6am. safety latch was shut so they couldn't get in2) returned from work and found the bed upside down, they were doing maintenance while i was staying in the room and could not rest for 2 hours till they finished3) carpets were dirty, no towels, place smells like drunk sweat, bathroom fan was disassembled, head board was damaged before arriving, place needed maintenance but should not have occurred while i had the room booked.4) there are no refunds - upset and checked out early i was not refunded for the early check outoverall: extremely dissatisfied, will never consider this place ever again.

Not very impressed with this hotel’s management of the rooms and cleanliness and won’t be staying there again. I checked in at around 6:30pm and I had a few concerns- There was no safety latch or chain on the door even though there was clearly a spot for it. Me wanting to do things on the safe side, I put a chair infront of the door as a “just in case measure”. Little did I know it would stop someone from actually entering my room at around 1am. Two guys had the key to my room and almost walked in as I was about to sleep. Had I not put the chair infront of the door they would’ve found me in bed. Smh.- I was unable to use the bathtub because of how dirty it looked.- Found a small bundle of hair/dust under the sheets, and the bed frame was dusty.As I said, I was not impressed and won’t be staying here again.

I am writing this review to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding our recent stay at your establishment. As a loyal customer and a long-standing member of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts since February of 2012, I have always had wonderful experiences with your brand. However, our recent visit to Super 8 in Red Deer has left us greatly dissatisfied and concerned about the quality of service being offered at your property.We had booked 5 rooms at Super 8 from June 7th, 2023, to June 14th, 2023, for our employees who were scheduled to work 24-hour shifts during their stay. Unfortunately, upon their arrival, they were met with several issues that significantly impacted their experience. The rooms had an overwhelming smell of smoke, the bedding was filthy, and our employees felt compelled to sleep in their clothes on top of the sheets due to the unsanitary conditions. Moreover, the bathrooms were far from clean, with visible mold, grime, and even holes in the walls.Our attempts to address these concerns with your front desk staff were met with unhelpful responses. We were directed to contact Wyndham to cancel the reservation, despite the hotel being responsible for handling such matters. Additionally, we were informed that we would be charged as a no-show for the fifth person who couldn't check-in due to the circumstances at the hotel. I spoke with someone the following day, and email pictures of the room and he then agreed that it was unacceptable and did not end up charging us for the 5th room.This entire experience has me deeply disappointed and questioning the level of service and maintenance at Super 8 in Red Deer. As valued guests, we believe it is crucial that you thoroughly investigate the issues we encountered during our stay. It is essential that these concerns are addressed promptly to prevent other guests from enduring similar disappointments in the future.We sincerely hope that the necessary steps will be taken to improve the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall service at your property. As loyal patrons, we expected much more from Super 8 in Red Deer, and this experience has put our confidence in your establishment in jeopardy.
