KaTO is remarkable in that it has some of the greatest sushi you can find in the entire Ottawa-Gatineau region. The flavour profile and texture of the fish is fantastic, and the rice tastes wonderfully fresh and is so lightly packed while still perfectly holding its structure. I got the Kato Dynamite Roll and I was really impressed! The other items we ordered were tasty as well, but above all, it’s clear that the sushi chefs really know what they’re doing, and it’s for that reason that I will absolutely be coming back to KaTO again. Other than the sushi and sashimi, I would also recommend the Angry Chicken (Poulet Fougueux) for those who enjoy spice. The chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the gochujang sauce had a wonderful kick! I will say that the staff was a bit on the idle side when it came to tending to our table, so it took a while to get served or to refill drinks. I also made a note on OpenTable that the occasion was my friend’s birthday and asked for dessert specialty recommendations for her, but the note went unacknowledged and there was no mention of it at any point. However, the experience was still a great one, as it has been every time in the past, and as I mentioned I will still gladly be returning again in the future!

Food is a 10/10! Each dish were amazing on their own. The portion sizes were great. Sashimi was fresh and delicious. For a party of two, I would recommend the chef choice. If I had to rank my top two dishes, it’ll be the sashimi and short rib taco! Honourable mentions for the Brussel sprouts was a close second!I highly recommend ordering a few dishes to try all of the different flavours. For two people, we ordered five dishes and had some leftovers to take home.Our server was great. This was our second time there and he remembered us. Service was prompt and courteous.

WOW!!! The food was absolutely beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. The fish is extremely fresh. The staff were courteous and attentive. I highly recommend checking this place out even if its just for something small. My friends and I had a fantastic girls night.

Great atmosphere and location. Sushi was mediocre and service was extremely slow. Overall ok. Nice addition to the area!

Very good food with unique flavours. However Appetizers were better than the main course. The service was very poor unfortunately, low staffed, inexperienced waiters, one chef which resulted in a 3 person dinner taking over 2 hours. Unfortunately, I would not come back due to the poor service. Patio does have a great view.

When the food is awesome, the service is amazing and the decor is gorgeous ... how can you not want to go back again? I pretty much ordered everything on the menu except one or two items due to diet restrictions. Samantha and her team are so lovely and pleasant. I've been at Kato three times in the span of 4 months this year. Looking forward to the next visit. I'll post some photos later on. Highly recommend Kato for a group or just simply an intimate dining experience. ♥️Tips: Car pool if you can. Some nights it is a bit difficult to find parking.
