Chartwell Royal on Gordon Retirement Residence

I am a entertainer who performs for the residents at Chartwell Gordon .I have been treated so well and love their Residents enthusiasm and friendliness.The staff have been absolutely wonderful from Management to their Lifestyle staff .After being in several Residences I believe the true way to review places is thru the staff and residents , as this is their home !I would recommend Chartwell on Gordon to anyone looking for accommodations. ! Our dad required some extra support following a medical procedure. During his 2 week respite stay he had an amazing recovery, was well supported by all staff, and even asked to stay a few days longer for the social enjoyment. He enjoyed all of the meals, participated in the various recreation activities and had people his own age to interact with. Dad started as a reluctant participant and blossomed into a socially engaged, energetic and happy guy. He loved it so much he has asked to for another respite stay there after an upcoming surgery!

I operate a health sciences company that provides programs and services to retirement communities. We have been providing Yoga classes to the Chartwell Royal on Gordon residents. I cannot say more good things about the staff, residents and their operation. It is clean, the staff care so much and the residents are so cheerful!

Fantastic staff, all very attentive and sensitive to your needs, as soon as you walk in the door. My mother in law lived here for several years, and was cared for with great love and attention. I also perform music for the residents who attend in great numbers and enjoy every note we play with such enthusiasm.

My Mom moved to Chartwell Royal on Gordon in June of 2021, after a short lived move to another well known Retirement Residence in Guelph that will not be named. The experience was night and day. From the initial tour, Nicole and Megan went over and above to make sure that Mom was comfortable and happy. The entire staff at Chartwell Royal on Gordon are fantastic and made the transition and adjustment for Mom seamless. They listen to the needs of their residents and go above and beyond to accommodate and make them feel at home". Mom has a very complex list of health issues and had a very difficult 9 months leading up to the move and has settled in well and we're incredibly comfortable with the care and support that she is receiving.Covid has made things difficult in any circumstance

I am one of Royal on Gordon's favourite musical entertainers and love performing for their residents. I have played there numerous times and I am always well-treated, the residents say the nicest things to me, and the staff are always over-the-top friendly. Oh, and the facility is beautiful!After one performance a resident suffered a medical emergency and I was privileged to observe how effectively, respectfully and tactfully the staff handled the situation. If I was in that resident's situation, I would appreciate receiving the same type of care.

I am an entertainer at Chartwell. Every time I visit, the residents are friendly, kind and appreciative- an excellent, community atmosphere. This is a tribute to the staff who take such great care, provide excellent special events and a variety of programming. Meagan(Lifestyles& Program Manager) is always professional and welcoming. Lily (Reception) went out of her way to help me get set up and to make sure I had everything I needed.

Late in the spring of 2021, I determined that my 96 year old mother needed to move out of her Toronto house for safety reasons. In preparation for this eventuality, I visited the 2 Chartwell homes in Guelph where I live, and determined that the smaller Royal on Gordon would be the best fit for my mum whose cognition was declining.After 8 months, I continue to be super pleased with this decision, as is my mum. Staff have been stellar along the various stages of exploring suite options, supporting the move in experience, and providing service options best suited for my mum. As my mum's needs have evolved, staff have been very helpful in problem solving when circumstances changed including when service coordination was required with the LHIN.As key caregiver for my mum, I usually visit twice weekly. It is very comforting to feel supported by the Royal on Gordon community.

Chartwell Royal on Gordon is a wonderful resident home! Very calming and comfortable. The team is amazing to work with and the management is outstanding! They do everything to make sure things are organized and the residents are happy and healthy. Care team goes out of their way to love and care for their clients. I personally work here as an agency employee and love it here! The other housekeeper goes out of her way to make sure things are shiny and clean! Highly recommend this retirement home ❤️
