Darcy was very responsive and came to fix our AC right away. He was professional and knew his way around a very old AC system. He was able to locate the problem and fix it in no time. He explained the system to me and I was able to understand the how it worked. I would highly recommend him.

Phoned a number of heating companies Saturday morning as my furnace wasn't working and I had no heat in my house. Despite it being an urgent issue, I was told I'd have to wait a few weeks for any help. I then phoned Protech Heating. Darcy (owner/technician) did some troubleshooting over the phone, and after realizing it wasn't something I could fix myself, he was able to come later the same day. He was quick to determine the problem, managed to fix the issue quickly and even gave some general maintenance tips. Rates were good for a weekend call and the fact the service was completed the same day.Darcy is a great guy, who is professional, friendly and extremely helpful. I will definitely be calling him again for any furnace issues.I highly recommend calling Protech for your heating/cooling needs!!!

We were having furnace issues overnight and of course it was extremely cold outside which had me in panic mode. I called Darcy first thing in the morning and to my surprise he was able to be here within a couple of hours! He had everything running smoothly really fast and at a reasonable price, I can’t recommend him enough!

My furnace wasn’t heating up and it was -20 outside so I was in immediate need of help. Darcy not only tried to troubleshoot the issue over the phone by having me try a few things, he was responsive by coming within an hour and getting the furnace working again. There was no upselling to a new furnace and he reassured me my older furnace was still in great working condition and he could service it and fix it again if needed. He also was able to get my gas fireplace working during the same service call, something that would have cost me a lot more if I had a fireplace company come to fix it.I highly recommend Darcy and Protech!!

Darcy was the only person to call me back same day from the folks I called in the NW. He answered all my Qs over the phone about his services, including pricing - I appreciated the transparency.He came in, diagnosed my AC issue and had it back up and running within 30 min. If you're looking for someone who is honest and affordable, look elsewhere. I recently hired Darcy, from protech, for a furnace repair. The actual labor on the furnace was an hour at most, 15 minutes troubleshooting, I was there and helped point out the problem. The motor replacement would not be much more than 30 minutes, I wasn't there, but it's 4 screws and a couple connections. I understand the $160 an hour for the technical expertise and specialized tools, but another $160 to pick up a part???? I guess that wasn't enough profit, he charges me $500 for the motor, no invoice, no receipt. I had agreed to the price on the phone, because the house was cold and I thought I would see some sort of part invoice. When I requested a copy of the original part invoice from Darcy, he reimbursed me $120 (he knew what he did) and sent me a part invoice he made himself, I never did get an original part invoice. There are lots of HVAC companies out there, I would NOT recommend Darcy from protech.

I found Darcy through our neighbourhood community page. I gave him a call and he was out 30 minutes later. He diagnosed and replaced the needed parts quickly. While he was out I asked if he could check my gas fireplace as it had a smell coming from it as I hadn’t used it in several years. My furnace and fireplace are both up and running now. He’s super knowledgeable and personable. I’m incredibly thankful for him coming out and fixing everything same day, on this cold day.

I called these guys over a long weekend They came out to help within hours and the service / expertise was amazing I am going to recommend their services to everyone. In fact I am contracting them again at end of next month for a major job. Whatever the job, big or small. Call Darcy
