Kamamarui Ramen & Don
Like their broth which is rich and flavorful. I particularly enjoyed the Black Ramen, which had the right amount of savory. The chashu pork was tender and flavorful, for both sous vide and grilled versions. The noodles were classic with an authentic bite, chewy and flavour. However, it's perfect if the strong taste of kansui could be reduced.

The ramen here is unexpected and really mild, I can barely taste the pork broth in it. Its not what I expected from a ramen shop because the soup was so weak. It visually looks like ramen, but it doesn’t taste like ramen unfortunately…The fried chicken pieces are a bit small compared to what other places serve — it was +$8 as a combination with ramen. The noodles themselves were good, could be a bit more al dente.Overall food doesn’t taste particularly memorable, it’s tastes like soup noodles rather than traditional ramen.Price wise $13-15/bowl, I’d rather go to Marutama/Maruhachi, Hyorin, Danbo, Santouka over this place.Table condiments available: chili oil, ramen sauce (aka soy + msg), spicy sauce). Adding these made it taste even less like traditional ramen.

5-star ramen restaurant! Kamamarui on Royal Oak is a bit of a hidden gem, in the shadows of the nearby Marutama (now called Maruhachi) and I would say that I prefer Kamamarui for its flavorful broth and delicious chicken karage. Seriously, the karage were dynamite! Crisp, juicy, and lots of flavor. This really surprised me in a good way. I'll be back!

We got the two tonkatsu ramens, one with sous-vide chashu, regular broth and a regular chashu, and rich broth. Both bowls were very below average and dissapointing. Broth was mushroom based and tasted worse than some instant ramens, while the chashu was dry, thin, and underseasoned. It also had a lot less sides than we were used to. You won't get nori, bamboo shoot, or even sesame seeds. For atmosphere, the inside is very steamy and stinky, it smelled like a damp dirty fish tank. It took our server 15 minutes to approach us to order, but the food came out relatively quickly.Overall, I really regret eating here for a date night when I feel like any other place could have been better. This place's rating are NOT accurate for what the place is now.

The ramen has delicious broth. However, the noodle could be better. If Kamamarui changes the noodle or add other noodle options in the menu, then I would add star(s).Additionally, the bomb (rice ball with seaweed) is a tasty side dish.

Visited at off peak hour, food is ok, average for the price. The entire place is so hot! I felt like I’m in a huge sauna. It’s facing west so the entire place is baked under the sun. The dudes there told me the A/C it’s already on, while I felt it’s more than 90f.The noodle itself is firm which I do like, and the thick broth is also to my liking. However the chicken karaage come with really really poor quantity, and just too little meat. Will not come again and will not recommend to anyone. The noodle is worth a try though. You might find yourself enjoy it.

Ramen broth was lukewarm. Noodles has the chew" feel to them. Egg was perfectly cooked. Server was very attentive. Overall

Really good Ramen with a good service. I got Chasu ramen and karage chicken, both were delicious with good portion. Also got served some hot tea and the staff made sure to refill it at all time.
