The BEST dog trainer around! We purchased the puppy package for our American Bully and from the first consultation Ryan has been so amazing and supportive. In between the puppy consultation and the start to our lessons, Ryan was always available to help guide us and answer any questions we had with our new pup. It’s been difficult trying to navigate a strong working dog breed and we are so grateful that Ryan has the knowledge and expertise to help our pup develop a strong foundation. Working with Ryan has been such a pleasure and we definitely look forward to taking the working obedience course later on.

Ryan was and is very helpful, accommodating, comforting and knowledgeable. I couldn't even walk my dog. I was at my wit's end with many different issues and now I can walk him with ease with a loose leash and a coffee in the other hand. He doesn't jump up and nip anyone anymore, at all and those were huge issues for us. It doesn't end here for the training, just because the training sessions are over doesn't mean our training is over, but I definitely feel like I have all the tools I need to have a very well trained bully breed dog. I am excited for our future and have comfort in knowing that I am able to reach out to Ryan if I have any future issues or questions. Thanks again Ryan it was a pleasure.

Where do I start?! Ryan is hands down a phenomenal trainer!!I inquired about training when I first got my puppy in mid October last year, but he was fully booked up until Mar 2022! Unfortunately I missed the registration deadline in January and finally registered on time in March for June lessons. I'm sooo glad I waited to train with Ryan. It was worth the wait, the value, the high standards and the work ethic he has when working with us.Our initial appt showed his interest in getting to know the type of dog I have, to the type of owner I am and how to best work with us to maximize our training sessions.Ryan took his time explaining, when I was unsure about how to do a command or had questions; without judgment. He was patient and he was very clear with his instructions. I had already trained Neo most of the basic commands, however, it was not anywhere near as amazing as Chickpea's level. Ryan taught me on how it can get there - with a lot of training, time and dedication and reviewing the homework! He'll even notice my position vs Neo's position and how to fix it in order for a command to work better.I can't stress it enough, how on point Ryan was to send out the homework sheets along with the youtube video within a few hours of completing our lessons.Our training with Ryan has made a huge difference with Neo’s obedience and recall. We had a near miss when Neo almost started chasing a car thinking it was me coming home, and my husband called him to come back and he did without hesitation!!!I would definitely recommend The Dog Philosofur to anyone who needs new or additional training for their puppy/dog. I know I will be contacting Ryan again for any other training that I may need for Neo. It was a pleasure working with Ryan, Chickpea and Ollie. We went through 5 other trainers with our Dutch Shepherd starting from 3 months old. She is now just past 2 years old. We saw limited success with each of the other trainers, despite investing an enormous amount of time and lots of money. Ryan was able to produce IMMEDIATE results at our first training session. After 2 training sessions, we are now able to walk our very reactive dog through a busy park without it being an exercise in frustration. The e-collar was the ONLY tool we had not tried. I sure wish I had found Ryan a long time ago. He is an excellent trainer, compassionate and helpful. I would highly recommend Ryan and the e-collar.

I highly recommend Ryan for your dog training needs. Ryan’s support with Sigurd and I in completing the behaviour modification package was amazing! Walking us through the process from start to finish, Ryan ensured that I understood the techniques and the why behind them and that goals were clear and met to satisfaction. His kindness, patience, and knowledge offered a calm space to learn and the resources provided allowed us to carry out training independently as well as apply and adapt the skills learned.Thanks again, Ryan!

Life changing! Ryan is incredible. Our walks are now something we can enjoy as a family since training with Ryan. The Recall and Heeling training have let us breathe a sigh of relief. There is no more questioning whether or not our dog will respond to us, or whether or not our dog may bark at another dog across the street - he just behaves how he should! He's happier since he gets more freedom and we are happier since we have a dog that is under control and gained invaluable trust. I completed Ryan’s 4 week Off Leash Real Life Recall course with my two year old pup. I had gone through standard group obedience training with her when she was around 5 months old, and I’ve done training on my own, but I am so glad I switched over to private training.Ryan is calm and knowledgeable and explains everything thoroughly, both the how and the why. I really wanted to make sure I was training consistently and effectively especially when it came to the mini educator and Ryan definitely helped me do that!My dog’s recall improved immediately after beginning our training sessions. Her recall is almost spot on and I am confident that with continued practice she will recall no matter the distractions that come her way. I am so excited that she will get the added freedom off leash without the worry of a failed recall.Ryan also took the time to answer any other training questions I had outside of recall including some leash reactivity issues and how to manage life with two dogs that don’t get along.The emails sent after each session were very helpful and appreciated. I am beyond happy with the progress made in such a short amount of time. I will be turning to Ryan for any future needs.Thanks Ryan!

Ryan is a very knowledgeable, reliable and friendly dog trainer. My husband and I utilized his services for in home behaviour modification sessions for our rescue dog. We learned a lot and so did our dog Luna. The training was very successful and we are so happy with the results. We would use Ryan again and recommend him to anyone looking for an awesome trainer. We had an amazing experience working with Ryan and would recommend his training programs to any dog owners. We contacted Ryan after struggling to find progress with various other trainers for behavioural issues we were experiencing with our 2 year old Goldendoodle. While for the most part a sweet and loving member of the family, our dog was exhibiting reactivity & resource guarding tendencies and we had issues with him consuming unsafe objects that he became possessive over (such as socks or garbage off the ground). We also wanted to work on broader obedience and strengthening our dogs recall so that we could trust him off leash. Ryan was extremely professional and responsive from our first email. He was very generous with his time and really listened to all of our specific concerns, coming up with a training plan to address each area. It was obvious from our first conversation that Ryan is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in his field and he gave us so much reassurance and confidence that we could correct the problematic patterns that were developing. He gave us very clear, specific and easy to follow instructions that were not overwhelming for us to implement and always fair and reasonable for our dog to learn and process. After four sessions working with Ryan we have seen so much success. Our dog no longer steals and guards unsafe items and will drop objects on request. We are able to have him off leash when we go up north which has given him so much more freedom and it’s obvious how happy he is. We are so grateful for all of Ryan’s support and advice!
