Ferme 5 Etoiles - Centre de vacances

Did not stay in accommodation but viewed animals. The enclosures are far too small. The wolves and deer did not appear to be in good health. The wolves' enclosures was very small and they were compulsively pacing. Very 1950s ambience of how they were kept.

Nice place. The place is full of many different chalets around inside a big field ans it is nicely equipped for short stay. The direction to you chalet inside this huge garden/ field is not very clear with the guide map and you might have to look around a bit before you find it.

It was okay place and could be easily missed. If you don't have anything else to do then you can waste your time here. Farm is okay for small kids. ATV is the only activity due to which I rated 2* rather than one. Bear watching is pure time waste as we didn't see anything for 2.5 hrs and if seen any day, it's better to see it in zoo. We wasted one full day here and could have seen something else.

Good basic accommodation for the family with outstanding animal experiences for children and adults alike ! The Ferme 5 Etoiles offers you a pocket sized version of the best of Canadian wildlife with animals that would take weeks to see in the wild (if at all) neatly presented. Their ethics seem good with animals having been abandoned or unable to live in the wild and the standards of animal care seem high quality. Keepers and staff genuinely care about the animals and take genuine pleasure in sharing their stories with the kids. We stayed in one of the rooms on the farm (8) which was a small pine panelled room with a double bed for us and one for the kids. Some other rooms had bunk beds which saved a little space. The room was comfortable although warm in summer with no air conditioning. A modern TV and cable box are provided along with a fan to keep things a little cooler ! The micro kitchen was fully equipped with a hob, microwave, filter coffee machine, toaster, kettle and fridge with tiny freezer compartment. Rooms have an adjustable heating system with digital thermostat on the wall. Overall the room was comfortable and well appointed, clean and welcoming. Farm activities start at 8:30 with feeding the animals - all guests are invited to tag along as keepers tour the farm and close contact with a range of animals is assured. A cute litter of husky puppies were the highlight for us, your wildlife may vary according to season ! The Apprentice Farmer programme is fun for the kids taking 3 days to give them a behind the scenes tour of the farm and let them feed animals, collect eggs etc. Do make sure to start on the day you arrive as each level must be completed before the next is started and you will need 3 days. We didn’t eat at all at their restaurant opting to make our own food or eat at local restaurants but it looked inviting. Overall highly recommended - don’t miss the chance to visit the lovely bay at l’Anse-de-Roche just down the road as you could easily miss what is a stunning highlight of any tour to the this area. Say Hi to the moose from us !

Great place to experience the outdoors. Well equipped rooms and friendly, helpful staff. If you like huskies, this is a great option to enjoy playing with them.

We supposed to stay for a night, but we extended it as it was really great. The family apartment was looking much better than on the photos. The staff is super friendly and answers any questions about the animals. The apartment was well designed, very cosy and warm. The bed was perfect, kitchen was equipped with everything you might need. We had a great stay.After reading other reviews I was afraid about condition of the animals, but it looks like they are in good hands and the staff takes care about them well.I will recommend this place to everyone :-)

Wow. This place is great. Family owned farm and animal sanctuary with sled dogs, cows, ducks, fox, wolf, lynx, deer, etc. camping spaces are generously sized and the accommodations are all recently updated. Beautiful gardens and lots of activities available - fishing, quads, hiking, walks with the sled dogs, etc. Stephanie & her family own the property - good people.

We got snow shoes and trekked up to the viewing point at the fjord. It was a challenging hike and so worth it! We enjoyed it thoroughly. Do go, but prepare well. Keep food and snacks specially water. And get the snowshoes!

Perfect for families!We stayed in Chalet #6 for a night. It was very spacious for 2 families of 4 (4 adults and 4 kids).The next morning we went to the main centre to see the animals and walk around the farm. After our check out and seeing the animals, we enjoyed the exterior unground pool that’s on the site.The chalet was nice and clean. We sept good, it was quite and relaxing. The chalet had view on the lake… a nice little balcony to enjoy a coffee in the morning. There is also a fire pit to enjoy at night.It’s about 20 minutes from tadoussac. You would need to get groceries in the little town of Tadoussac because there is not much around.It was a short visit but We had a great time!

You can visit the animals even if you don't stay there. It's a refuge, so they help animals, compared to many zoos.
