We had a snafu in our trip and ended up staying here on short notice as they were one of the few affordable places that had availability. The place was very clean and convenient, my only critiques would be the furnishings (maybe throw a picture on the walls?) and the fact that they were right by the water but no windows facing it, instead the only window was facing across the parking lot. But it was a great place to stay for a night, clean and comfortable. Great for people coming to the area for kayaking or other outdoor activities.

Clean, bright new motel. Super comfortable beds. Excellent location right in the heart of Port McNeill. Very friendly and helpful staff and secure COVID-19 policies. Love the colours of the buildings! Highly recommended.

Great stay. Friendly staff. We could walk everywhere. We went to the local micro brewery and sat on the patio just a few blocks away. We also walked onto the ferry to Alert Bay which was just a couple blocks away. Love staying here every summer.

We had a fantastic stay with my group of 5. (And one weird shaped zucchini we brought that you can see in my photo). We got two rooms, a one bed and a two bed. It felt nice and new and I appreciated the floors not being carpeted. Walking distance to everything. Nice comfy beds before our departure to hike Cape Scott. We ordered take out from the nearby pub for dinner. The sink outside of the bathroom was nice for the room I stayed in with my 2 friends so we could use the sink when someone else was in the bathroom. 2 USB plug ins the lamps was nice, but there was only 1 lamp for our 2 bed room and there were 2 lamps for the 1 bed room.

Second stay at the humpback for us, great service as usual. A very short walk to the farmer's market at the water's edge, and still close to the shops to stock up on supplies. The staff took the pandemic very seriously and both sanitized and social distanced very well. Great comfy beds and spacious rooms.

My room was clean and never had any issues. A microwave, kettle, coffee machine and fan were provided. No bathtub though. It’s perfectly located in town so I could walk pretty much anywhere I needed to go.My only complaint is the towels - oh my god, if you’re staying here, bring your own towel. The ones provided are so short and feel like sandpaper. I understand it’s a budget motel but the towel barely wrapped around my body and I’m a fairly small woman.

Highly recommended. Reasonable price. Well cared for. Very colourful exterior.Rooms are on the smaller side, fairly basic but well equipped. No complaints here.Extremely clean....one of the cleanest we have experienced over our many years of travelling. Great parking. Within a very short walk of restaurants, shops etc. However web site says a minimum of a 2 night stay. We did not pre book but arrived about 3:30 PM and since facility was not full we were permitted to stay one night. There were about 25 rooms? available and when we woke the next morning it looked like only 25% were occupied.Owners could likely fill this lovely motel each night by reconsidering the 2 night minimum stay since most people book on line and many likely pass on this facility as a result.Otherwise a very pleasant stay.

Great new place to stay. The room was comfortable, extremely clean. I called the number on the door when I arrived and the staff were really nice. Great at socially distancing. The place is across the street from the ocean and a block from both the drugstore and the grocery store. I picked up some food from the store and was happy for the little fridge. Also lots of fresh air door right to the outside so no hallways. Will stay again when I’m up next month.

Great motel! I really enjoyed my stay here. Is new and clean and is a great place to end your day after hikes or a day on the water. Service and check in were easy. The parking situation is great, spots available right outside your room. Close to restaurants, shopping, and the ferry. My only real feedback is that the space needs a touch more storage or surface area like a dresser or desk. I know that they are going for minimalistic but as a guest I did find it hard to get fully settled with such little storage. Also, a comfy type chair wouldn't hurt in addition to the bed as a place to sit to relax. Also, a piece of art on the walls wouldn't hurt.Overall I definitely enjoyed my stay and my issues didn't affect the quality of my stay.

Perfect motel for travellers. Nothing fancy but everything you need. Well built and very clean! Perfect parking right by your door. USB outlets on the lamps was a nice touch. Would have been nice to have a microwave and a small freezer compartment in the fridge, but not necessarily a requirement for us.
