Old Quarry Trail
In fall of 2022 lots of the paths between the boardwalks are surrounded by water or mud. People are making newer paths to get around. The boardwalks are not being maintained. Several areas have soft boards that should be replaced including those that have a large piece of plywood over them. Still a great place to go for a walk. Lots of options for paths to take but some maintenance would be nice.We have just discovered this little gem. We have not explored the whole area yet but the trails we have walked have been easy, beautiful and filled with squirrels, chickadees and nut hatch birds. It's a great place to take kids and let them run off some energy.Be careful if there is a warm up then freeze. The paths can become very icy and some ice grips make it a lot easier.

Old Quarry Trail
Very easy trail (2-3 people wide), with lots of birds and good scenery. Only issue is the parking P5 is way to small for the number of people attending.

NOT DOG FRIENDLY. Google should have better info for trails of they are dog friendly or not. There is one short trail here that links with Trans Canada trail where you can be with your dog. It’s pretty sunny though, so not a lot of shade, which is something you would expect on a trail. So I can’t comment on the actual main trail loop quality, but the whole situation is not right. Such trails should have better markings.

its a nice trail that i like to bike on. it isnt too difficult but there are certain areas where there is a lot of mud which causes biking there to be kind of difficult and some parts of the trail to be closed but it isnt too often because this only happens when it rains.

The Old Quarry Trail is a gem, easily accessed (lights at the entrance). Lots of parking. Public washroom at trail head. Paths are well marked and a few different loops to choose from. There's also a labyrinth of smaller paths. The trail also links up with the Trans Canada Trail. Mixed forest and swampy area at centre.

Beautiful trail especially if your visiting during winter and there is snow. I think you his is the best park I have ever been when there is snow. It is good for snowshoeing and deep skiing. You can walk a lot and take lots of pic s

In the heart of Kanata is a wonderful nature trail It is a great place to walk run or bike and ski in the winter and get in touch with nature. Plenty of birds animals and reptiles to photograph.also some of the most interesting rock formations in the Ottawa area. If you looking for a great nature trail to bring kids this is one I would recommend. Keep in mind the trail isn’t groomed so in spring and fall you may require proper footwear as parts of the path may be muddy and containing ground water. The parking area is gravel but also does tend to get muddy. I would highly recommend this trail to anyone who loves nature.

A lovely trail to go for a long walk on. Washrooms are available at the parking area, which is a plus, and there are many different paths that have signs on them, so it’s hard to get lost.

Old Quarry Trail
Old Quarry Trail is a nice place for a walk. It isn't as scenic as some of the other Greenbelt trails, but still worth the visit. The trail is accessible via Parking Lot 5, where there's plenty of free parking. There are several signs at the parking lot, but no trail map. It would be nice if the NCC added a map to the trail entrance. There's several maps / signs along the trail, but not at all trail intersections. The trail is primarily flat, with very little variance in elevation. The section between P5 and A is very flat and wide, and not as interesting. The section between B and P5 has a bit more variety - a few short boardwalks, and some educational signage. There were lots of birds and small animals along the trail. There are plenty of trees to shade you from the sun along most of the trail. Unfortunately there were also a lot of flies and mosquitos as well, definitely wear bug spray.Overall - good short / easy walk for all ages, but nothing spectacular.
