Sparkling Hill Resort & Spa

My husband and I stayed at Sparkling Hills for two nights to celebrate our anniversary. We took full advantage of the spa and enjoyed a few different treatments - I highly recommend the Empress Sissi and the Sparkling Facial. It was really nice and very convenient to be able to walk down from our room to the spa for a service or to use one of the amenities.All of the service and spa staff that we interacted with were very warm, friendly, and welcoming. We enjoyed the food, but I did wish there were more options for breakfast, or maybe even some grab and go items (like muffins, bagels, etc).Our room was comfortable with an excellent mountain view, however there are a few finishing touches" and quality of life things that were missing. The toilet paper was very thin

My husband and I came here for a mini getaway after our wedding and we absolutely loved it and cannot wait to return. The infinity pool and the saunas/steam rooms were all amazing, we loved the crystal steam room the most. I would say the only thing I didn’t like was that there are not a lot of options as far as snacks/meals go after 10pm. I will definitely be packing snacks for our next stay. My only recommendations would be to add a vending machine and perhaps a smoothie/juice bar!

My first time visiting here, and it won’t be my last. The whole experience was amazing. The spas, the rooms, the service. All the employees were kind and always smiled and said hi.The only thing the restaurant on site like in the hotel is very pricey and has limited selections. The Austrian/German restaurant was delicious and very affordable. But I would recommend to bring snacks for the room!Other than that we will be coming back again.

I stayed at Sparkling Hill near the end of the month in March 2023. It was a special trip that I don’t get to take often as a single mom- I flew to Kelowna for it - which might I add, could probably fly to Mexico all inclusive for close to the same price I paid for my ticket to fly 55 minutes away. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. However, I booked several spa treatments and they were mediocre. I was prepared to spend a lot to spoil myself.. I went to a massage place prior to arriving in Sparkling Hill to ‘start off the trip, right’ I enjoyed that experience far more than the spa resort services. Unfortunately, on our final day when we had two services booked prior to leaving.. we ended up having a very uncomfortable experience while discussing with the manager how the treatments were less than impressive. She told us that we should’ve reported the other service from the day before, immediately - but we did with the lady at the front desk of that spa.. however, the manager was not there, so she had not yet been able to discuss it with her.. the spa manager continued to scold the employee right in front of us, was acting pretty rude with us as well. This was very uncomfortable. Upon leaving we did discuss it with concierge who did get the hotel manager- the lady at the front desk was very helpful and kind. She was compassionate to the experience that we had. The manager apologized & said, let me see what I can do and after a while, he returned & sent us away with bath salts.. I am not one to complain or leave negative reviews. I like to see the positive in all of my experiences.. however, going to a place that specializes in spa services and is built up around that.. I should leave here walking away feeling absolutely incredible.. that is what I went there for. On the plus side, I did enjoy the saunas as well as the infinity pool, Peakfine restaurant & the German farmhouse restaurant on site.

Service has improved compare to pandemic times. Hostess and waitress service still has room for improvement (like bringing us entrees but forgetting cutlery). Compared to my last visit, the building is definitely showing its age. The pool ceiling is dusty and some lights are out. The mattress in our room really should be thrown out. It's stained and ripped. The minifridge in our room also doesn't get cold at all. Still, this resort is good value compared to others like Kingfisher and Tigh Na Mara.

The staff are always professional and courteous. I have stayed several times and I’ve always felt rejuvenated and refreshed after my stay. The seams and saunas are always clean and a wonderful part of the included cost of the room. The restaurants, both the farmhouse and peakfine have a wonderful selection of excellent food. The servers know what should be paired with your meal and always make fabulous suggestions. I will definitely be staying here for many years to come.

We came here for our honeymoon. My husband and I had the empress Sissi spa treatment as well as a facial. The spa services are WONDERFUL! Best massage I’ve ever had! The infinity pool was also very lovely, spent a lot of time there! We were both surprised about the size of complimentary breakfast; they were of food quality and very filling! We were a little disappointed in the house keeping services as they didn’t take garbage out of our room for duration of the stay. But otherwise all the staff were so welcoming and friendly to us! Will defiantly return for a spa weekend!

We came to sparkling hill in September 2022, we had a good time and decided to book again for last week to celebrate my birthday. The AC in the room did not work and it was very hot and stuffy in the room. We were in room 115 and it was so noisy to the point it kept us up or woke us up - people talking in the hallway, yelling down the hallway, the elevator noise, constant people walking by. There is no fitted sheet on the bed so the sheet constantly comes off and there is not a mattress protector underneath. The room looks like it needs renovation. The facilities are dirty and there is sand in all the pools. I came home with bug bites all over my legs and arms(not mosquitos). I can only assume it’s bedbugs - but either way bug bites regardless is not a pleasant experience from an expensive resort. The food at the resort is extremely overpriced and not worth the money.Overall we were very disappointed and do not plan on going back. There are much better resorts/stays for the same price range.Editing on: Jana, the general manager reached out to me with above and beyond customer service. I was a frequent visitor to the resort before the pandemic. But you can really tell the building is starting to age and deteriorate. There were stains in the bedroom furniture and the spa was dirty. For the price I am paying to stay at here, I shouldn’t be seeing this. Its nice to see they have implemented new additions to the resort ie. Gernies but its still overpriced for what it is. As always the staff is super friendly.
