I parked at the Lake Glencarin Trail Entrance, near the wildlife rehab center, and walked onto the boardwalk / trail on a Saturday, mid-morning. I was there for about 20 minutes. In that time, dozens of runners passed me, alone or in groups, talking to each other or talking on the phone. Some had to engage in standoffs on the trail with seemingly inconvenienced Canada Geese. Consistent and not-insignificant car noise from the highway a few hundred feet away from the lake's edge (I imagine this isn't the case on the north side entrances?). Wasn't ideal for birding / birding by ear but seemed like a lovely place for a run or a social stroll, despite the geese.

Lots of beautiful areas at this park. Nice long trails for walking. Areas of ducks to feed and watch. If you look in some of the big skunk cabbages you might see some little bright green tree frogs.

Burnaby Lake Regional Park is a good place for hiking trail. You can watch birds at Piper spit. It is a wonderful place to watch lots of birds closely. You can go to nearby tower to see the whole view of the lake. However, there is no enough parking. In addition, the parking lot is unpaved. You know it is terrible in rainy day. When you walked along the lake, you cannot see any lake views as there are too many tree and plants at lake side. To improve the facilities of the park is desirable.

So full of wildlife in the heart of the city - great for birding and potentially fishing. You’ll also sometimes see turtles and fish. The loop is 2-3 hours long, but not all of it is bike friendly. Dogs need to be on leashes. The loop has a lot of shade for most of it which is great for sunny days.

Nice place for a walk or run with relatively flat land.A lot of different types of birds and bird sounds. A lot of geese too, so be careful.I only walked on the north side.

I love this park so much. The spit is one of my favorite places to go here and just sit and watch the birds. The paths are nice to walk too and the park is full of native plants and beautiful views.

What a nice treat on a Sunday ! I have never been to Burnaby Lake before. Thank goodness there are on site maps for the trails and observation sites. We did one of the elevated sites with handcap rairs and ramps to look out over the water. What a view.We only did half the trail I was just too hot to complete the journey. We stayed on the shady side. Lots of dogs on leash. And very few bikes going by.I promise I will come back more prepared.

The trails are all cozy and easy to take a walk. There are also a lot of benches along the trails and around the lake, which you can always sit on and take a feast while you’re tired.

Flat gravel trail 10.3km lake loop. Great for easy walks & jogs (no biking). Various viewpoints & numerous parking spots along the trail loop. The Southside trail can be a bit noisy coming from the #1 highway. Lots of Donald Duck's relatives here for a reason.
